“Hi everyone! My name is René and I am incredibly honored to be able to share our home with you through Home Bunch! I started @pleastantlybuilt to document our build for ourselves and to help others as so many others were helping us through the building/design process. While documenting our experience I discovered how much I enjoyed helping others and wanted to continue after our house was complete. “A little background information before we dive in. My husband Christian and I are located in our hometown in Illinois, 20 minutes outside of St. Louis, Missouri on 12 acres. We were lucky enough to find land less than five minutes away from both of our parents. We both work full time, Christian is in healthcare and I am in sales. Even though it is currently just the two of us and our fur baby Toby, we designed our home to be able to accommodate a growing family. “When we were designing our home we knew we wanted an open concept that centered around the kitchen, because whenever we hosted in the past, that is where everyone congregates. With that in mind we needed a large island that would seat as many people as possible. Our island measures 10’ by 5’ and comfortably seats eight. Some of our other must-haves for our kitchen were cabinets to the ceiling, full-sized fridge and freezer, and a farm sink.” – René of @pleasantlybuilt

“Growing up I loved baking and I was always used to having two ovens. I made sure a second oven was on my list of must-haves. However, the traditional double oven did not work well in our kitchen design as I didn’t want to lose the counter space. We ended up getting the Samsung Frame TV and it was the best decision! I love how you can select from a gallery of art work. You would be surprised at the amount of people who were shocked to find out that it was a TV over our fireplace, and not an actual piece of art.” – René of @pleasantlybuilt
