One of the reasons I love interior design is the fact that no matter what your taste is, it’s never wrong. I know that many interior designers could disagree with me but if we all continued thinking “inside of the box”, new classics would not have been invented and we would be very bored right now.
The world of interiors has changed and new interior designers have broken many rules, and it’s thanks to them that we now see so many refreshing and interesting interiors, just like this one we’re about to see.
When designing this home, interior designer Amy Miller didn’t want to have decor matching the traditional architecture of this house. What she wanted was to have the decor complementing its architecture. For that, she introduced some classic elements and also some surprising accessories to create an overall balanced home.
You’ll notice that, even being a classic home with a classic approach, the interiors are intriguing. It’s neutral, without being boring, it’s calming, without being sleepy!
A successful space is achieved when designers or homeowners know how to reinvent and interpret what their favorite kind of design really means to them and this is Amy’s interpretation of classic design for this home.
Classic Home
This is where perfect architecture meets world-class design.
Entryway
This is a foyer that will never look outdated. Classic choices always delivers that.
Living Room Design
A new classic? Perhaps! The living room feels tailored and relaxed at the same time.
Dining Room
I can admire big dining rooms, but nothing feels more inviting than a cozy one. This dining room has the perfect scale, and a fireplace is always a plus!
Kitchen Design
This kitchen is a nice surprise. It has clean lines and it’s a mix of industrial and farmhouse style.
The floor material is 3-1/4 select white oak.
Eat
The manufacturer for these cabinets is “Downsview”. The “Eat” sign can be found here.
Eating Area
Everything was beautifully chosen for this space, and you simply can’t miss the fact this room opens to the garden.
Powder
Have a powder room? Make it shine!
Here, the designer added a stunning mirror, sconces, grasscloth wallpaper and a classic vanity with a show-stopper sink. Now, that’s a way to impress your guests.
Outdoors
This is the best time of the year to enjoy your outdoor space, so make sure to get out there! Feel the sunshine, breathe some fresh air and hear the birds singing.

I love how Amy Miller kept the palette light yet added so much inviting warmth with the use of texture and warm accents in the caramel family. An unforced approach. Very appealing. Thank you, Luciane, for posting.
