I feel that we have learned a lot with the chaos of this pandemic and, if you read Home Bunch for a while, you probably have noticed that I don’t talk much about it, simply because I feel this is a space where we focus on the good stuff and escape, even if it’s only for a little while, from the hard things out there. Good, right? It’s also necessary! π But my point is, during this time I feel that we have learned to appreciate even more the roof we have over our head. It’s in our home where we feel safe and it hasn’t been a more important time to make our house truly a home for ourselves. Renovation projects have never been in such a high demand and as hard it is to get a contractor to redo your kitchen at this point, it’s also important to make small changes that you can do by yourself, like painting or refreshing the decor – trust me, even a new rug and some new pillows can do wonders!
If you’re searching for inspiring interior design ideas to refresh your home, this newly-built family home with classic interiors by Campbell King Interiors (new on Home Bunch!) features plenty of it!
On this house tour you will find not only all of the details shared by these talented interior designers such as paint colors, lighting, flooring and furniture, but they are also sharing what their goals were for each and every space featured in this post. So, make sure to read it throughly and you will find that inspiration – and maybe even a little push for you to start working on your home. Enjoy!

“Just like every home, the foyer is the first place you greet a guest coming in to your home so we wanted to give a fun and easy first impression. We started with the custom millwork on the walls allowing it to calmly speak for itself. We then added a fun brass pendant and a pop of blue in the rug to begin the color story of the home. We found the poufs at Target and though they were the perfect addition to the entry for a touch of whimsy.”

“The dining room speaks for itself. We both have a strong love for every piece created by Sally King Benedict, and we knew we had to incorporate a piece of her art in this space. We had her custom paint the, βBlue Lady Face,β hanging above the clientβs heirloom sideboard and added simple buffet lamps to each side to help anchor the art. We decided on a delicate but stately chandelier to set the tone for the space and added a cloth wallpaper by Phillip Jeffries for a soft and subtle texture. On the window treatments we felt it was necessary to stay neutral and understated by incorporating tone on tone silk drapery panels with a classic trim.”

“The kitchen in this home is where it all started. We saw the Navy, La Cornue Range, in a random advertisement and knew it was love at first sight. We spoke with the homeowner and selected this range first and the rest of the house fell into place. From the navy range to the accenting stand-alone cabinetry with antiqued mirror we knew this direction was going to give a clear vision to the rest of the home.”

“This pantry was a place to have a little play on pattern. At the very end of the construction process we decided weβd use the remaining gray and white marble tile floor from the laundry room here to give a fun transition from the kitchen into this space and added a last-minute floral wallpaper and contrasting ceiling to give that extra detail. We love the way this space reflects the true Southern culture using a mix of textures and patterns.”

“In the family room we continued the navy color from the kitchen over to the bar area to help marry the spaces. We stayed traditional and neutral with pops of color coming from their one- of-a kind rug and the navy sofas. By implementing the navy in a repetitious manor we were able to create a cohesive feel throughout the room.”

“For the bar we knew we had to incorporate the navy color from the kitchen and decided to let it stand on itβs on by using a dark gray granite on the splash and the tops. We then carried the dark color palette through by using smoky quartz acrylic knobs on all of the doors and drawers. We felt it was important to let this space stand-alone but still feel cohesive in the room.”

“In his office we decided to paint the entire room including the built-in cabinetry and windows in Benjamin Moore, Hale Navy. This color was the βneutralβ for this project. We wanted this space to feel personal, masculine and calm. We incorporated a moody painting above the large desk space by one of our favorite local artists, Rachel Payne Art, to give that added touch of masculinity. We custom designed the roman shades in a mixed wood to add a touch of earthiness and surprised the homeowners by hanging black and white portraits of their girls on the walls in walnut frames to help tie the masculine tones together.”

“When entering the home from the garage we wanted this space to feel warm and inviting; cozy in a way. We achieved this by keeping the built in mud benches, bench cushions and vertical shiplap all the same color.
With a house full of girls we knew we could add a touch of whimsy with the oversized pink lumber pillows that accessorize each bench area, upholstered the cushion seat in a faux ostrich leather for durability and cleanliness and of course added a dab of brass through the hardware for the perfect traditional touch.”

“We knew that this bathroom would be frequented often by family and friends, so we wanted to keep it simple but fun. We kept the cabinet color the same as the hallway leading into it and added some youthfulness by incorporating some amazing hardware by Addison Weeks on the cabinet doors. On the walls we used a tried-and-true sisal in a neutral tone and carried the brass up from the hardware to the faucet and used a curled sconce to play up the whimsiness of this space. The paintings used on the opposite wall of the vanity were purchased by the homeowner and we felt they were the perfect accompaniment to tie all of colors and textures together.” – Campbell King Interiors

“The ends of the hallways were originally supposed to be closets. Once feeling the space and walking in multiple times we came to the conclusion that these two areas would be the perfect place to mirror one another to help balance the long hallway. We married the two ends together by adding the same mirror, bench and light fixture to both spaces. We felt by doing so it helped balance the long space and allow guests to feel a sense of unity from one end to the other.”

“The master hallway is a place where we actually added some of the most detail. This space felt drab and boring before we decided to do the custom reeded panels throughout. We had to design the space and talk the builder in to helping fabricate each panel, but it was totally worth it in the end. This space leads you directly into the master allowing for a moment of drama that can be seen from the guest formal powder bath.”

“The master bedroom might be one of our favorites we have ever done. We married our aesthetics of modern and traditional and created a serene escape for the homeowners. We started with the amazing rug from Lulu and Georgia and brought the blue accent color into the space in the custom upholstered bed frame and the gorgeous lamps from Visual Comfort. The nightstands were actually a last-minute order when we realized the original pieces were not going to make it on time. We felt that the end result turned out better than we originally planned and realized that mistakes sometimes create the perfect result.”
