Hello, my friends! How are you doing today? I am definitely looking forward to the weekend. It’s supposed to be sunny around here (hallelujah!!!) and I am hoping to get out and go for a walk on the beach.
Talking about the beach, I am hoping you guys are enjoying my coastal-inspired posts this week. I am a big fan of modern farmhouse but if you’ve read the blog for awhile, you probably know that my heart beats a little faster for coastal interiors. This is why I was so grateful when Lisa Michael of Lisa Michael Interiors, LLC sent this stunning project to be shared with you today.
The Florida home has the best of the coastal and farmhouse worlds because its interior is a true integration of traditional and classic coastal elements with a cottage farmhouse twist. The home was renovated by the former homeowners prior to purchase by these clients in February of 2016. This was a full interior decorating project with finish changes in the kitchen, as well as a custom designed built in for the office. Finish changes were also made to the fireplace by adding Italian black Chicago brick. Beadboard was added in the guest bedroom and many other details which you will see during the post.
The home was fully decorated by Lisa Michael of Lisa Michael Interiors, LLC.
“The front door was painted a warm black, and custom copper black painted lanterns were added for a quintessential coastal feel. The back of the home features black and white striped awnings, and a pool, as well as dockage for their fishing boats. Paint color is Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron.” – Lisa Michael.

“In the entry, we added a concrete mirror with rust rivets. In order to accommodate the mirror, we cut into the bead board to be able to hang the mirror at the proper height. The result is a mirror that looks integrated and finished in the space.” – Lisa Michael

“The fireplace at the center of the great room was originally a cream marble. To freshen it up and add a sense of history we added an Italian black Chicago brick in a herringbone pattern, and white painted Chicago brick for the surround and hearth.” – Lisa Michael

The Great Room opens to a cozy bar custom bar with extensive millwork. Bar paint color is Benjamin Moore 840 Kensington Blue.

“This home features extensive millwork. Ship lap, bead board, moldings, casings and custom built ins that add immense character and charm to this home. Sloped tongue and groove ceilings with exposed wood beams add architectural detail, warmth, and a coziness.” – Lisa Michael.
A custom built-in buffet separates the dining area from the kitchen.

The trim and built-ins are painted in a soft white paint color, Benjamin Moore White Dove OC-17, which beautifully contrasts with the dark walls, in Benjamin Moore Wrought Iron.

The kitchen island features a Cherry butcher block island countertop.
