The owners of this stunning beach house wanted to capture the feeling and style of the house in the movie “Something’s Gotta Give” starring Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson. The result is an elegant, craftsman style, vacation home sitting high on a bluff overlooking the Gulf Islands of British Columbia.
“Something’s Gotta Give”Inspired Home
Any beach house looks better with shingles and a turquoise front door. The paint color is by Farrow and Ball, Number 210, Blue Ground.
The windows and doors are by Marvin.
Front Door Measurements
The designer kindly shared the front door measurements and I hope this comes handy if you’re building/renovating your home.
Foyer
Who would love to open the doors to a foyer like this?! The lights are Millbrook Pendant lights in historic nickel from Hudson Valley Lighting, product number 8412-HN.
The bench was built as a custom piece of furniture for the entry.
Foyer Decor & Flooring
The coastal approach is evident in every room of this house, starting from the foyer with the turquoise console with seagrass baskets.
The hardwood floor is manufactured brushed white oak with a clear polyurethane coating from European Touch Hardwood. The boards are 7 1/2″ wide in lengths ranging from 2′ to 6′. The thickness is 5/8″ with a 4mm wear layer.
Turquoise console table is from Stanley Furniture.
Beach House Living Room
This gorgeous living room is all about the incredible ocean views and summery, coastal decor. The living room fireplace features herringbone mosaic tiles.
Notice the decor displayed on the built-in bookcase on the right.
Seafoam & Turquoise Living Room
This stunning beach house living room feels open and airy thanks to the triple French doors with transoms and the soothing color palette.
Chairs are from Bari Designs.
Paint Color
The entire main floor is painted in Benjamin Moore Oxford White CC-30.
Sofas are Rachel Ashwell from Shabby Chic.
Coffee table and rug are from Restoration Hardware.
Kitchen
Inspired by the movie “Something’s Gotta Give”, this home features a stunning white kitchen with clean lines and a large kitchen island.
The kitchen pendants are the Thomas O Brien Henry Industrial Hanging Light. And the kitchen island countertop is a polished 3/4″ white marble slab called Bianco Statuario.
White
Classic kitchen combination of white cabinet with white quartz countertop and white subway tile backsplash.
The kitchen cabinet paint color is Fossil Dust” CLW 1043W by General Paint.
Kitchen Linear Lighting
The dining room lighting is the Darlana Linear Pendant from Circa Lighting.
Roman shades are from Hartmann & Forbes.
Dining table and dining chairs are from Once a Tree Furniture.
Kitchen Layout
I love the turquoise decor, the neutral blinds and the glass cabinet above the refrigerator.
Butler’s Pantry
Great butler’s pantry with white quartz countertop, marble mosaic backsplash, open shelves and door with transoms to dining room.
Staircase Landing
Paneled staircase leading to the landing area with built-in bookcase.
Staircase Wall Decor
The “Circling Swallows” clock is from Anthropologie.
Light Stained Wood
Stunning white oak flooring.

The chandelier is the Two Tier Paris Flea Market Chandelier from Circa Lighting.
Kids Craft Room
Isn’t it the perfect place to create? The wall covering is called Modern Trellis by Schumacher.
Desk and desk chairs are from Pottery Barn. Cushion fabric is from Caitlin Wilson Textiles.
Laundry Room
Beautiful laundry room with quartz countertop, herringbone backsplash tile and farmhouse sink.
Storage Area
Great organized storage area. I wish mine was neat as this one! Let’s get inspired!!! The floor tile is porcelain Etrusche tile, colour Paestlim, 12 x 24 from Stone Tile.
Guest Bedroom
This guest bedroom is warm and soothing at the same time. I love the framed prints above bed.
Shiplap Bathroom
Adorable bathroom with shiplap walls. The faucet is a Grohe Bridgeford chrome faucet, model 20134000.
Green Bed
This cute guest bedroom features a green bed, which looks great with the existent decor.
Bunk Room
This kids bunk room is truly adorable! I love the four bunk beds and the seating area.
Storage
Adding a built-in cabinet by the bunk beds is a brilliant way to add extra closet space to a bunk room.
Turquoise Glass Beads Chandelier
What a cute bathroom! The chandeliers are from Arteriors Home, product number 89288 Duke 4 light iron and glass chandelier.
The sinks are “Studio” style, white undercounter sinks by American Standard, product # 0614000.
Flooring
The kids bathroom features a classic mosaic marble flooring.
Master Bedroom Closet
The master bedroom’s closet opens to a spacious bathroom.

The floor tile is custom selected and cut Limestone with a chiselled finish.
Soaking Tub
The soaking tub is a York tub model # YOR-N-SW from Victoria and Albert.

Everything is kept organized within this extensive built-in closet.

This master bedroom has everything you could wish for! I am amazed!
Open Doors
The master bedroom opens to an extensive balcony.
Master Bedroom Fireplace
The fireplace tile is calcutta matte white mini brick honed marble mosaic from Creekside Tile Company, Vancouver Canada.

I could spend an entire day looking at this view.
Shingle Siding
The cedar shakes are treated to look natural and retain that look. They have one light coat of Sansin #39 Stone Grey translucent stain.
