With 2020 just around the corner, it’s time to think about how to keep your home up on the latest trends! Deeper colors work great in rich materials, like velour, or as accent walls. Solid colors will be at the forefront of trends, whereas patterns will be virtually non-existent. The colors of the year will be champagne and pumpkin red.
In keeping with the artisan design, the high-shine and sharp lines of modern design make way for the handcrafted style of matte finishes. From tiles to hardware, the warmth of matte is the perfect compliment to imperfect shapes and lines of furnishing and finishes.

Natural and clean materials like linen, velour and rattan will be a big trend for 2020, which can easily be integrated into any room by way of accessories and décor like pillows, trays, curtains and more.
Natural stone will still be a big trend in 2020, however, for elements like pavers, large and simple ones will replace ornate trends of the past. Composite decking is as always a popular choice for its longevity and low maintenance. Corten steel will make a return. As a material that requires little maintenance and develops a beautiful rust-like appearance over time, it fits in perfectly with the overarching theme of home trends of 2020 – simple, lived-in and warm.
Exterior home trends for the coming year will also be about simplicity and nature. Natural pools are a trend that have been steadily growing across Europe in recent years and is now finding its way to North America. Like many other trends for 2020, nature and artisanal design make organic pools visually appealing, while their eco-friendliness reflects the changing consciousness of society in general.
Continuing with this leaning towards social consciousness meets natural design, outdoor kitchens are a natural progression of the focus on healthy eating. They are a great tie-in to the returning trend of home gardens, giving a truly personal meaning to the term ‘farm-to-table eating’.
Combining ecological benefits and beautiful design, green roofs are a trend that will keep growing in popularity in 2020. Combining recycled and natural solutions for roofing not only benefit homeowners, but also improve air quality.
