I think that most of us dream of having a vacation home; a place where we can pack our bags and spend most of our summers and every holiday. For this young family of three, Daufuskie Island – a small island off the coast of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina – with no bridge and no cars (you can only use golf carts), was the perfect place to build their 3000 sq foot new-construction beach house.
The stunning interiors were done by the South Carolina’s sought-after interior designer Lisa Furey of Lisa Furey Interiors. Her goal was to create a family-friendly Low Country Coastal Farmhouse style cottage – on the outside she did this by adding certain selections such as shingles, board and batten, shutters, cupola and a weathervane. She carried this style inside with window and door profiles, door hardware, shaker style cabinetry, shiplap walls and ceilings, stained beams and blue and white tiled stair risers.
The designer shows that is possible to add beauty to a hard-wearing vacation home that can withstand renters and houseguests, and of course, the wear and tear of coastal/beach life for many years to come. Lisa got this home ready for beautiful memories to be created.

In the Dining Area, a round table creates an ease flow while simple lines does not compete with anything outside.

In the Family Room, the designer chose simple hardwearing and comfy pieces without adding a lot of color. She wanted to downplay the interior and showcase the nature outside.

The Guest House features a golf cart garage with a home office and guest quarters above. The fenced yard is perfect for dogs or small children.
This Guest House is really welcoming. Notice the adorable window-seat! Cabinets are custom in Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue.
