Christmas is only a few weeks from now and I have a little urge to enjoy this season like never before. Do you feel the same way? If you do, this Christmas tour will make your heart sing! I can’t describe how happy I am to feature Hillary’s home of @thehillarystyle. She’s truly one you must follow!
Hillary’s home features today’s biggest trends without feeling too trendy. She knows how to perfectly balance the elements, color schemes and textures in a way that nothing feels overwhelming and everything seems to be complementing, and if you’ve ever attempted to design any room you probably know this isn’t an easy task to achieve.
Here, this talented homeowner shares more details about this inspiring Christmas tour:
“As the Holiday season is upon us, what was the first word or feeling that you experience as this time of year approached? For me, it was that magical feeling of twinkle lights and the excitement in my kids little faces as they pour over the toy catalogs and talk about Santa. I know that often times the holidays can be overwhelming with endless To-Do lists, but creating that magical feeling within your home doesnโt have to be complicated. A simple strand of twinkle lights, a bowl of dried fruit, pinecones, or ornaments is the perfect simple touch of holiday cheer. A Christmas tree decorated with lights and a hand tied ribbons is just as beautiful as one decked out from top to bottom in ornaments.
One of my favorite spaces to decorate for the holidays is our bedrooms, especially the kids rooms. It is a tradition I have surprised them with after school on a day before Thanksgiving for the past 5 years. They look forward to it as much as I do. I try to keep it simple, festive, and a reflection of each individual child.
This year especially, as we all stay closer to home, is a great time to create a simple, yet cozy and magical โnestโ for our families. It is a time to slow down and make that extra cup of hot cocoa while snuggle by the fire with the ones that we love. The best gift we have all been given this season is the time to sit back and slow down just a bit. Wishing you a holiday season filled with beautiful memories, extra cozy evenings, and laughter amongst the twinkle lights.”
Note: Furniture & decor are available though the homeowner.
Hillary recently renovated her entire home and I am really excited to share some “Before & After” photos along this tour.

I am so glad Hillary added a few photos of her Fall Decor. This post is one you want to bookmark and go back to a few times!

“When we began our remodel I knew right away that I wanted to make the openings larger into this room, and that I wanted larger windows. We replaced the four smaller windows with 8 larger windows that are as large as the structure of the home would allow.”
This is one of my favorite rooms of this home. A Black Granite fireplace adds personality and some drama to this newly-renovated space.
The home felt a little outdated and much darker.
It’s hard to believe this is the same home, right?! The entire space feels brighter, bigger and current.
This is the amazing view you see as soon you open the front door.

Hillary shared how she decorated her mantel for Christmas and you can see the video here.
“As beautiful as our view is out our large windows, the show stopper and scroll stopper in our home has always been our fireplace! I have never been a huge fan of a TV over the fireplace, and knew I wanted to do anything that that I could to make it more discrete. I chose to go with 4 slabs of black honed granite from Bedrosians as our fireplace material. We created a recess for our TV so that from the side, and even from the front, the TV seems to disappear. It took the team of installers a week to section by section install our fireplace slabs. They started at the top and worked their way down supporting each section with small brackets and a lot of glue and clamps. It was quite the ordeal! The slight white veining in the granite often times has it confused for marble, and the matte honed finish gives it a modern, yet more casual appearance.”
“At first we did not have plans to have a mantel. I wanted a clean look without added details, but after one Christmas with no where to hang stockings I changed my mind. We had custom brackets made the mount inside our TV recess and to the back of the mantel piece. The mantel can be added and removed any time that we choose.”
Hillary’s Christmas decor feels festive and elegant.

“My initial plan for the kitchen was to have one large 16โ island tuned the other direction creating a large walkway to head to the dining room. I had decided that I wanted the dining room to be through the kitchen in its own area vs being tween the kitchen and living room as you usually see it.”
The Kitchen felt outdated and in need of some attention.
“After reworking the floorplan and making the mudroom a bit more narrow, we were able to create a kitchen that had two 4โx8โ islands! An entertainers dream.”

“The two large islands in our kitchen are most definitely one of the show stopping features in our home. For this reason we knew that we needed to keep the design simple when choosing our countertops and backsplash. We ended up choosing to use Lamberti Quartzite on all of our countertops and as a full slab behind our stove. This helped to keep the kitchen cohesive, and it blends well with the dining room bar area located on the same wall essentially as our range. It required three slabs to complete our kitchen.”
Kitchen Countertop Edge: Mitered.
We decided to make one island the storage and prep island, and created double sided seating on the other island with shallow cabinets for storage underneath. The bar island has 18โ Deep cabinets underneath with pullout drawers for easy access to storage.
Island Dimensions: 4โx8โ each.
“In addition to the 60โ Thermador Range, we also went with a full sized 36โ refrigerator, and a full size 36โ freezer. The layout and chosen appliances makes our kitchen not only beautiful, but extremely functional as well.”

“In our previous home we had a Butler Pantry that we absolutely loved, and we had included one in the home we were going to build. Because of the layout of this home a butler pantry was not possible if we wanted to have the two islands. Instead of a full Butlers Pantry we chose do include a full Bar Area at the end of our Dining Room. This is where we have all of our beverage suppliesโฆa mini fridge, pebble ice maker, hot water tap, filtered waters hidden coffee station, and a hidden microwave area. This just might be one of my favorite places in our home, and it definitely is one of the most hardworking spaces. Because this space is located just off of the kitchen I wanted to keep it simple in design as well. We initially had all White Oak cabinets in this space, but after seeing them installed we chose to paint them black. It felt like it flowed better with the kitchen stone, and it helped to balance out our black fireplace at the other end of our main floor.”
Dining Room Built-in Cabinet Paint Color: Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black.
“I chose matte black faucets to keep with the seemless look, but loved the way the warm brass hardware stood out against the black cabinetry. The brass hardware also compliments the kitchens warm brass hardware.”
