“The inspiration behind our “Timber Trails Southern Charm” was to infuse that classic Southern traditional look with the clean lines of today. The wonderful homeowners are drawn to a more classic look. From our first meeting, I knew black and white with a lot of different shades of blue would be the overall feel of the home. The hard finishes of the home are very neutral with lots of black and white. We layered blues and beige on top to give it a warm and welcoming vibe.” – Julie Howard for Timber Trails Development Company.

“The challenge in this room was to keep it open to the family room but still have the seating focused around the fireplace and TV. Originally the sofa divided the room and faced the TV. The homeowners felt that whenever they entertained, no one made it over to the living room because the sofa acted like a divider. We changed the layout by using an angled sofa sectional that is shaped like a C. This shape with chairs on the opposite side creates a full circle great for conversation, but it is also wide open to the kitchen. This open space is welcoming for guests to make their way over to the living room and not just stay around the kitchen island.” – Julie Howard for Timber Trails Development Company.

“The other challenge of this room is the many little kids that live here. We knew an ottoman would be a great choice because of its soft corners. Knowing kids would be jumping all over it with dirty feet, I really liked the idea of a dark color. This navy was the perfect choice. The ottoman turned out to be the focal point of the room and was worth every penny. The sectional and chairs were outfitted with perennial fabric so even thought they are ivory, little sticky hands can touch them and it can be easily wiped clean. The two armors flanking the sofa look beautiful and give weight to that side of the room (they are opposite black french doors). Even better than their beauty is the fact that they store all little homeowners’ toys!”- Julie Howard for Timber Trails Development Company.
