There are days and there are some really happy days, and today is a really good one because I am sharing with you, my dear friends, a project done by a very talented interior designer, Lisa Furey of Lisa Furey Interiors. This award winning interior designer is someone I admire professionally and personally. Make sure to continue reading to know more about this Historic Farmhouse Home Renovation through the designer’s own words:
“This is a 5000 square foot, 5 BR/5 BA historic, stone Pennsylvania Farmhouse, built in 1900. It sits on 5.1 idyllic acres, which include a fishing pond and weeping willow tree. I was engaged to assist with the renovation of the master bedroom, master bath, walk in closet and office. Additionally, we renovated the laundry room, refinished all hardwood floors, painted the entire home and carpeted where desired. New lighting was added or replaced and all window treatments were removed and replaced. On the main floor, we revamped the staircase, gutted and remodeled the powder room and kitchen/bar area and refurnished the kitchen, dining room, foyer and family room.
Goals were to maintain the historical character of the home and tell the story of the loving and fun filled family living there, while creating a fresh and timeless look.”

We tore out dark wood cabinets, green granite countertops, removed a heavy black island and replaced lighting. A gold wall painting was removed as were the dated window treatments. We maintained a beautiful arched window over the sink (but painted it black) and also maintained a stunning barrel vaulted ceiling.” – Lisa Furey
