This is the kind of cottage for those who loves cottages but don’t like to compromise on style. Built in 1810, this cottage still enjoys the traditional feel of a fisherman’s abode but with the talented eye of the owner has been lovingly restored to combine the original charm and character with wonderful bespoke furniture and stylish design. Best of all, this beautiful traditional fisherman’s cottage is nestled just a few steps from the beach and the interior has a chic Italian coastal style.

I hope you feel inspired and delighted.

Admiral’s Cottage

The classic “back and white” prevails in this cottage.

Living Room

Chic cottage in every angle and direction.

Cheers, Mate!

I love books and food! The best of the two worlds: bring the books to the dining room and vice-versa.

Right Left

The opposite wall.

Kitchen

I know we’re used to seeing huge kitchens with amazing appliances and ranges that are as expensive as a car, but there’s something so great about small kitchens like this one. Isn’t it so charming, cozy and sweet?

Hang It

Lovely.

Master Bedroom

This is so beautiful! I really like the dark floors.

Master Bedroom

Oh, I simply love this! I wouldn’t mind having this clawfoot tub in my bathroom. Would you?

By the Beach

Sweet view of the beach.

Lovely

This is so cozy and stylish.

Sunny

Bring me a gelato!

Backyard

Very low maintenance, after all, you don’t really want to mow the lawn when you can be at the beach instead.

Village By the Sea

The beauty of a sunny day.

Warmth

This is Kingsdown, Nr Deal, Kent, United Kingdom!

Don’t you miss the sunshine every time you look at something like the picture above? Winter is being good so far, I like seeing my son and daughter spending time outside, ice skating or tobogganing and I also like having the fireplace warming up our family room, but I won’t lie… I miss summer! I miss all the fresh fruits and veggies, the beach, the seafood. I guess I’ll have to wait a couple of months until I have all of that again. Meanwhile, I can keep dreaming with these cottages.

I want you to ask this before you go to bed today: “What gift have I received today”? We often are very busy and pay very little attention to the small things that happen during our days. I ask you to pay more attention to the people that come talk to you, to the people that pass across you on the street, at the supermarket, at your work. Have you seen their faces lately? Have you noticed what they are saying to you? Have you looked at their eyes? Pay attention to the world that surrounds you. What is it telling you? Is it asking you to smile more? Is it asking you to listen more? Is it asking you to give more love, more compassion? Pay attention to what involves your world. The answers for your questions are within.

  1. I’m not much of a beach person but I love cottages and this one would be perfect. This cottage shows you also don’t have to give up on style either, it’s beautiful .

    Enjoy your day!

    Luciane, como vai?
E o baby?

Complete strangers can be blessings with just their smiles and you can be too.

  8. this place is oozing wiith charm. my surroundings are telling me to become a better listener. to zip it.

    smiles to you.

  9. This is sooo charming, I love the dining room and would have dinner parties every weekend in that charmer of a room…don’t dining rooms and walls of books go together like cheese and pizza!
Hope you are well Luciane and in terms of what I am grateful for today..sill having my sanity desipte that the house is upside down and my health!
    Hope you are well!

  10. Again, I’m loving some of the great pieces in this one… like that fab black drum pendant over the dining room table, and the artwork in the living room… and what makes this cottage feel like home to me is the great cane on the coat hooks. So awesome!

I hope your week is going well, Luciane 🙂

    darling..just like you!!!

  13. Of course, you know, I LOVE this beach house. Sorry I haven’t been around lately – the year is starting off with a bang (in a good way). Hope you & the family are doing well. Thanks for sharing a dreamy beach cottage. It’s been snowing at our beach the past few days so I’m missing sunshine.

    Love & hugs,
    Marie

  14. Gloria said,

First of all, I do NOT know why, Luciane, but I absolutely LOVE this house. It’s not my usual style (I usually love FRILLY, ruffled rooms) but this cottage spoke to me and I want it! If not for me, then for my son. 🙂
And as far as your thought provoking question on this post: The gift I have received today is the gift that I have EVERY day… my son. He is 21 and I am blessed to have him at home still, but he is exasperating, fresh and downright mean sometimes, yet funny, appreciative, loving, a good person, a blessing, and every other thing that a kid comes up with for their parents. And I am SO grateful to put up with the good and the bad. I am blessed. PLUS, I am “no prize” myself, so I am happy he puts up with ME. So THAT’S the gift I received today. 😉
    Best,
    Gloria

  15. It is so beatiful – I especially love their choices of art! What a great question to ask at the end of each day, or I’m thinking each night at the dinner table with the kids would also be nice! We already do “roses and thorns” – ie what was great and terrible about your day today? But that would be a nice addition!

  16. What a beautiful post Luciane – both the images and especially your words. I will go on my day today thinking of what gifts I have been given – thank you, thank you! xo Sherri

  17. On my, that black table in the book room is my dream table! I LOVE this house. I love all of them that you post, and it seems each week even more so than the week before. This one is spectacular!

  18. Oh this place is just stunning – I love the soft monochromatic palette that they’ve used throughout and just love the simple outside area.

Ya know, as I saw the pic with the blurry beach huts in the background, I KNEW it was a Kent beach.

I lived for 3 1/2 years on the Kent coast, right near the beach and loved every minute of it. Two years ago, I moved far from the seafront and I’m now in Manchester but still miss the smell of salty air and fish n’ chips 🙂 Thanks for the little reminder and my ‘gift’ of a lovely memory today xxx
