The Real Estate market in 2022 was quite crazy after all we went through with COVID these past years. Many saw this as an opportunity to finally do what they always wanted to, and for many, the extra time they had made it the perfect time to finally start working on a fixer-upper.

“This project came to us about the same time we started working on another project in Arizona. The home was located in a cul-de-sac in the posh and revitalizing neighborhood of Arcadia. While the home was in a great location, it had never been renovated since it was built in 1958, and it had been severely neglected over the years.
We wanted to add luxurious details whenever we could on this simple ranch-style home so we could style it with simple but impactful mid-century modern furnishings and decor. Again, we took some initial cues from the architecture of the home but with our signature modern minimalist Homesmith Design aesthetic.”

Fixer-upper Design Tips: “We added simple modern millwork where we could throughout the home. In the bathrooms, we installed skinny slat wainscotting. In the Primary Bedroom, we installed a 2/3 tongue and groove wainscotting. The dining room and the office also received accent walls that added just the right touch of style to this otherwise simple styled home.” – Homesmith Design
