The house where “It’s Complicated” was filmed is for sale and I’m sharing all the pictures with you today. “It’s Complicated” was filmed in this house which is located in Hidden Valley, California. The movie director, Nancy Meyers, has an amazing taste for homes and properties, and all of her movies, including Something’s Gotta Give, The Holiday and Father of the Bride, are well-known for their houses and interiors. And the “It’s Complicated’ house is not different, the surroundings are truly picturesque and the Spanish hacienda house is beautifully appointed.
The house has approx. 6100 square foot, 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath, formal dining room and great room, decorated with a light, airy feel, exposed beams, romantic archways, beautiful wall and ceiling lighting, and a great kitchen. The home is situated on a 56 acre of property.
Want to know how much it would cost to own the “It’s Complicated” house? A cool $12 mil. Still want it? Take a look and let me know.
Not So Complicated
The house is incredibly charming and I love the oak trees.
Ding-Dong
The gates to the house
Drive
The long driveway to the house.
Walk & Talk
If this was my house I’d love to go for walks on this long and stunning driveway.
Away
Notice how beautiful and private this place is.
Entrance
The house has that simple and comfortable feel like all haciendas have.
Veranda
The long front porch with its brick floors.
Cozy
A cozy area to talk and have some food.
Living Room
The beams, the arch and the doors are my favorite elements here.
Bird-Watching
I’d never say “no” to a window-seat.
Lights
“Fortuny” lights lead the way to the dining room.
Eat
The dining room feels grand yet not over-the-top.
Kitchen
I’d never complain if I had this kitchen, but I feel it’s a bit cold as is.
Other Side
The huge range can be seen from this picture.
Eating Area
But I have to say that I love this eating area.
Master Bedroom
You know I’ll mention the ceiling, right? Love it!
Simple
This bedroom is very simple, but it has its charm.
Mom, Dad & Baby
All the white makes this bedroom feel peaceful.
Bathroom
Beautiful arched tub.
Sunroom/Hallway
I really like seeing the banana tree. It reminds me of the farm we used to have in Brazil when I was a child.
Courtyard
Make a wish! ๐
Backyard
The house from the backyard.
Pool
Ready for a swim?
Pool House
Notice the river rocks that surround the pool. It must feel good to step on them. You also can see the pool house from here.
Summer
What a fun place to spend your lazy summer days at.
I’d love to know what you think of the “It’s Complicated” house. Is it your style? Would you pay the $12 mil for it? I never imagine living in a hacienda style home, although I love them, but I could move into this place without hesitation. I really like the privacy, the surroundings and the fact Meryl Streep was once there. I think she’s terrific!
I can’t wait to hear from you on this one!

If I had the money, I’d definitely be looking at this house. I’d change the kitchen — the style of it doesn’t seem to suit the house– the kitchen in the movie seemed much more suited to the house. Still very lovely.
Luciane,
I do love the house…I could see my stuff working in the rooms you’ve shown us. That said, it’s a little big for me. But the setting looks so serene. I love a gravel drive. $12 million, yeah right! It’s not in my budget. ๐

WOW – that is such a graceful home – I’d love to live there! I hope you are well Luciane – sorry I have been such a stranger during our crazy busy move – I am starting to come back to my blogging life again! We move in this weekend…!!!
Thats what I would call a “feel good” home…has such good vibes. Not huge not overly fancy, but so peaceful and so charming, love it all except the leather couches! Just fabulous..and the yard and lush foliage is so pretty!!
Hope alls well and sooo glad you are all feeling better!!
First, thank you for the sweet comment this morning, friend! Meant so much to me.
Meyers is SO talented. I love all of these movies!
Was this movie a riot or what?Thank you for sharing this home, Luciane.

Too much white for me. But.a color that goes with anything. Even so, too much white to clean.
Luciane: Well, I was worried about the water in the basement, the damage, the deductible etc.. but just had to peak at the glorious house. Thanks for the break from reality!
Best,
Liz
I have loved this house since I saw the movie. I could move right in. I love this blog. I can get ideas for my house or the next. Love it. Would love to stage houses and use this pattern. Every woman I know loves it.
thank you.
Love it. $12 Mil, is a little to high.. will you entertained an offer. ?
regards
In the commentary of the movie, they built the house on set, maybe certain parts. But they said they did the build on set.
I am so in love with this house and yes, I would buy it for 12 mil….if I had it! Does Harley come with the house? Lol. I know…I’m soooo bad!
What a beautiful home & property! 56 acres is amazing! All it needs, for me, are horses. My animals & I would love & enjoy living here!
Love everything about this house, my favorite style. Could move in in a minute. Also love the garden and all surrounding property. Also loved the movie have watched over and over to see the house and the garden.
