As excited as we can be to start decorating for Christmas, getting our home ready for the holidays is no easy task. That’s why I am excited to have my friend Janan, of @athomewithjanan, here on HomeBunch sharing tips on how she is decorating her home this Christmas. Her approach to Christmas decor features plenty of frosted neutrals, fresh and faux greenery and a touch of timeless elegance.
Start getting ready for some festive cheer, my friends! I know you will love Janan’s Christmas decorating ideas as much as I do!
Symmetry plays an important part on this Christmas front door decor. The idea is for, as the guests see the front door, they can expect how the rest of the house is decorated inside. Here, @athomewithjanan, added two Christmas Trees on each side of the door and added birchwood logs as “tree collars”.

How adorable is this Christmas porch decor? Creating a whimsical porch during Christmas can make your home look extra inviting and cozy during the holidays.
Here, the homeowner, shares some of her tips on decorating a front porch for Christmas:
– Porch Decor: “The front porch is the first area people will see, so designing its symmetrically will create a balanced look. When decorating, be sure to take a step back from time to time to get the overall visual picture and make the necessary adjustments as you go.”
– Front Door Wreath: “Make sure your front door wreath stands out and is compatible with your front door color. Whether a simple piece of greenery or a lavish piece with ribbons, ornaments and other fun holiday accessories, your wreath needs to blend in with the rest of your décor.”
– Christmas Doormat: “Finish off your look with a seasonal doormat.”

How to Start Getting your Home Ready for Christmas: “I start by laying out all my décor and deciding on a theme or style. Once I envision what I want the house to look like, I typically start decorating smaller areas and adding those décor pieces around the house to make sure I really like the style and feel. After the smaller areas are complete, I work on the main focal points: the tree, mantel and front door. This layered approach helps me to bring together old “staple” pieces as well as new finds to create a fresh feel each year.” – Janan
