Timeless architecture is always intriguing. Sometimes we see homes that were just finished and they look as if they were there for centuries. You achieve this with architecture that respects its era, representing it on the details. Landscaping is yet another important factor of the overall result.
Take for example this classic, newly-built home by John Kramer & Sons, which has incredible exterior details such as limestone entry, copper gutters and custom-made railings. You look at the exterior and you can imagine being somewhere in Italy.
Now, the interiors might just surprise you! Designed by interior designers from Historic Studio, the interiors have a wild mix of classic and edgy, which is never easy to do.
The kitchen of this classic home is unexpected with its forty-four inch chandelier, mirrored backsplash and even cabinets that were painted with car paint for durability and shine. But I have to admit, one of my favorite rooms of this classic home is the main bathroom. The space is truly inspiring and serene.
This proves that a classic home doesn’t have to be boring, and traditional design can be mixed with contemporary, while keeping its elegance.
I hope you enjoy your time here!
Classic Home
The architecture of this home is classic and elegant.
Architecture
The copper gutters and downspouts were custom-made by “All Star Roofing” in Minneapolis, MN and the clay tile roof is by Ludowici. It is an Anziani.
The exterior is made of stucco and stone. The stucco color is “Natural White”. The terrace railing and ballustrades are constructed of stone.
Front Door
These beautiful front doors are custom made by Pinecrest. The trims around it are made of limestone.
The Cartouche was made by Stoneworks in Minneapolis. It was designed by Andrea Swan of Swan Architecture.
I also love the lanterns and the flowers.
Entryway
You can’t help but fall in love with this house as soon you enter it. This foyer is impeccably designed with its marble floors and curved staircase.
Dining Room
I like seeing the contrast of black & white elements with the taupe fabric and rug. Everything is very calm in this space.
Hallway
Classic marble flooring.
Doors
The doors were custom-made by Eagle Windows.
Living Room
The fireplace was hand carved on site by an artisan name Jean-Pierre, from Edina, Minnesota. Stunning!
Living Room Design
I believe this living wasn’t complete when the architects took these pictures. It feels a little too cold and unfinished.
Chandeliers are by Schonbek.
Home Office
The home office feels masculine and stylish.
Paint Color is Black Satin by Benjamin Moore.
Kitchen Design
This is a very eccentric kitchen. Although it might not be for everyone, I might admit I think it has some very interesting elements, such as the wooden cabinets (by range) that were painted with BMW car paint.
The range in a 48″ Dual Fuel by Wolf.
Island
The countertop is a Brazilian Granite called Ubatuba.
Dimensions: The ceilings are 12′ tall and the island is 4’x10′.
Mirror
Is mirror backsplash for you? You can cook while admiring your beauty. π
Eating Nook
I like the idea of using a mirror on the ceiling. Beautiful space.
Family Room
The family room has an “Old Hollywood” approach. I love the different fabrics used on this sectional. The sectional is by Jon Arlen Group, in Minneapolis, MN.
The dimensions of this room are 20′ x 25′ and the fireplace surround is made of limestone.
Cozy
The brick wall is made of regular brick with a thick “sloppy mortar,” and then faux painted to give the frosted effect. Also, notice that you can’t see where the media equipments are from this picture. This is because this home had an extensive low voltage and media system, so all electronics were able to be controlled through remote controls, and all equipment was stored in a single room.
Staircase
Absolutely beautiful!
The flooring is custom White Oak, finished on site with a custom blend of stains.
The rail of the staircase is wood and the spindles are iron.
Built-in
Everywhere you look you see something incredible in this house. As you probably know, I love built-ins and this one would be great to store linens. Fabulous design!
Windows
Paint color is White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore, both on walls and trims. A classic choice!
Even the recessed lighting was painted the same color to match the ceiling.
Settee
Gorgeous settee.
View From Above
A look of the beautiful facade from the upper level.
Master Bedroom
The hallway leading to the master bedroom has incredible architectural details and a cabinet-style built-in.
Paint Color: Walls and Trims are White Dove by Benjamin Moore.
Bathroom
The arches make this bathroom feel even more special.
Bathroom Design
Everything was meticulously designed in this space. Pure perfection!
Vanities
Brilliant idea of incorporating corbels under the vanities. The mirrors were custom-made for the space.
Window
In this home Eagle Windows and doors were used. They are all wood.
Closet
Who wouldn’t love to have this closet, right?
The dark stained doors add masculinity, while its architectural details, the lighting and the ottoman brings a more delicate feel to the space.
Wool carpet is always my favorite flooring for closets. You want to step on something soft and warm while getting dressed.
Kid’s Bedroom
I’m in love with this carpet and the table! The light fixture looks like a Ventana 3-Tier Chandelier by Jonathan Adler, with all of the shades removed.
Ceiling Design
The walls has painted 10″ wide black & white stripes. Also, notice the painted design on the ceiling.
Girl’s Bedroom
This is a great room for a sophisticated girl. The chandelier is a Treviso 5-Light Amber Murano Glass Chandelier.
The bed is a very unique piece.
Antique Door
These antique doors open to a yoga room.
Style
Cork flooring makes it easier to clean and softer on your feet. I often recommend this kind of flooring for gyms or playrooms. It’s also very durable.
Breathe In Breathe Out
I wouldn’t mind doing yoga here π
Paint color is Navajo White by Benjamin Moore.
Home Office
This small office is great to do the daily errands and it has plenty of storage.
The cabinets were painted in Navajo White by Benjamin Moore .
Patio
A great place to enjoy a sunny day.
Porch
Bring your friends over!
The mantel is an antique.
Back of the House
Beautifully designed.
At Night
Welcome home! π

How are you doing today? Did you do something interesting during the weekend? We had fun on Saturday. We went to a park as we planned and it was great. I ran, sang, jumped with the kids… nobody was there… so we really could be ourselves!
I must say it did some good for my soul.
It’s amazing how important it is for us to step outside, breathe some fresh air and be surrounded by nature. It seems that we can focus better, feel lighter and less stressed.
Try to release any kind of tension by walking, by being with people that make you laugh and feel loved. I did it during this weekend and I’m feeling happier.
Sometimes we need to do what make us to be ourselves. Running and jumping with the kids on the park made me feel who I really am…
Do what makes you feel who you are.

Beautiful…love the exterior and I normally am not a big Mediterranean fan. Love all the light and that home office is incredible!! Dramatic yet inviting…beautiful!
Beautiful home with a gorgeous exterior. The stairway is lovely and the bedrooms/ linens and kitchen are gorgeous. Glad you got some time outside with your family. I agree.. SO important. We had our first sunny day this spring and EVERYONE was out. The fresh air and sunshine is so important for our health and well being.
Love the clever ceiling treatment with the fabulous light fixture in the library. What a lovely home!
