I have a question for you: Are you happy with your kitchen? It’s more common for interior designers to be hired to design a kitchen than any other space and there’s a good reason for that. Whether you’re building or renovating, kitchen design should be professionally done. I feel strongly that if you’re ready to spend a good amount of money to create the kitchen of your dreams then I think you should do it with someone in the interior design area, someone you know that can help you to wisely choose the necessary materials, such as countertops, backsplash, cabinet style and color.
It’s quite easy for us to fall in love with so many different kitchen designs we see and we might even have an all-time favorite kitchen, pinned to one of our boards on Pinterest, but could we actually replicate it at our place on our own?
When transforming the kitchen of your dreams into reality you need to take many things in count, and one of them is the importance of choosing a style that will last for many years to come. Having a classically designed kitchen is always a smart choice and they often work like a canvas — bring some decorative accessories, change the paint color on the walls and you have a reinvented kitchen. Considering timeless materials for your kitchen will make it look good for a long period of time and if you ever get tired of its look, you can make small changes instead of big and expensive ones.
Be wise where to spend your money and if you don’t feel completely comfortable on doing all of it on your own, ask for assistance. That’s the best option when you can’t afford to take chances!
Now, let’s take a look at this country kitchen designed by interior design Linda G. Larish, for Insignia Kitchen & Bath. This is country kitchen design at its finest!
More about this project: The cabinets are an inset door style. The door is a recessed panel with an ogee edge and small applied molding to add to the depth of the detail. The wood is maple. All cabinets are painted with a wiped glaze.
Be inspired!
Kitchen Design
This kitchen is one of those kitchens you don’t feel scared to cook in it! It’s practical and beautiful!
Butcher Block top is endgrain walnut. Fantastic surface for an island workspace. The endgrain is food safe and wears well with proper upkeep.
Range is a “Wolf 48″ Gas Range with Charbroiler & Griddle”.
Backsplash is tumbled marble 3×6 in Ivory. Sanded Ivory Mapei grout.
This apron front sink is a Kohler cast iron.
Warm White
The custom paint color is warm and it reminds of butter, which is perfect for a kitchen! ๐
The floors are 5″ feild finished White Oak. Stain color is a custom blend in the Early American tone and the cabinets were painted in a creamy white and then, glazed.
Hues
Accent hutch is a custom blue/grey with black glaze. This piece brings the entire kitchen to another level!
The sink is a “Herbeau 4307 Single Basin Copper Kitchen Sink” and faucet is a “Rohl A1679LM-2 Country Kitchen Low Lead Kitchen Faucet with Metal Lever Handles”
Light fixtures are by Hudson Valley. Island Dimensions: 37.5″ x 105″
The rug was found in the attic (really). Circa 1930. How lucky is that?
Dining Room
This dining room feels elegant, but casual at the same time. I really like the hutch, the chairs and the gorgeous flooring details.
The table was purchased from an antique shop before the project started and the designer designed the room around it.

Luciane,I am so glad that I found your blog! Wonderful inspiration and such interesting variety. Keep up the great work! We’re out here loving it!
Having a newish kitchen, I love my kitchen. I was able to incorporate many of the elements important to me in it…..I waited a long time to do it but finally got my wish! There is a lot that goes into planning a kitchen, besides wanting it to look beautiful…function is KEY!!
I am not happy with my kitchen…but I would have to sell my house to rectify the issues. What would I give up….a wonderful view of the lake with an intimate court yard a beautiful stone al fresco fire place!
Hi, Luciane!! I like my kitchen, of course, but it’s small :(. I have a little table for breakfast, and I would like an open concept kitchen.
one day I’ll show you my kitchen in photos, right?
this is my dream kitchen, spacious, bright and large storage space, nicely decorated.
xoxo
Luciane,
Our remodeled kitchen will have it’s 10th birthday this December and we love it for the very reasons you mentioned. We had a designer create for us the best use for the small space and the kitchen lives large.
Great post and good ideas, always.
