Designed by Castro Design Studio from Atlanta, Georgia, this family home is full of inspiration!
From its timeless brick facade to its reclaimed beams and arched doorways, this is the kind of home that invites you to come in and enjoy a peaceful environment.
I honestly can say that I enjoyed seeing every single room of this family home. The interiors feel neutral but full of life at the same time. There’s nothing cold about this place and that’s not always easy to achieve when the whole house is painted white (Timid White OC-39 by Benjamin Moore). To balance the white walls, the designer brought warm elements such as dark-stained oak floors, linen-covered furniture and slate flooring. The mix of these elements make this a remarkable place to call home.
I hope this family home with neutral interiors shows you that it’s not too complicated to live in a neutral place without being bored. Neutral interiors can be full of life and style!
Family Home with Neutral Interiors
I fell in love with the architecture of this home. This new brick house captures the elegance of an older home.
The paint and trim colors were custom blended to match an older house. The door is mahogany with a clear coat. Roof is t is a “charcoal” colored thirty year architectural shingle.
Living Room
The living room is formal, but very approachable. I really like the neutral color palette found here.
Chandelier is by Currey & Co.
Soothing Palette
Paint Color: ” Timid White OC-39 by Benjamin Moore”.
Entryway
The combination of an architectural door and timeless elements such as oak floors, make this entryway a very special place to welcome guests.
The floors are character grade red oak. They are five inches wide and they have a poly clear coat on them with no stain.
Light fixtures are by Currey & Co.
Arched
An arched hallway leads you to the family room and kitchen.
Family Room
This is a dreamy family room. It has so much character!
Beams are reclaimed wood from an old barn.
Kitchen
This is a gorgeous white kitchen! Notice the beautiful design on the cabinets. Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color: Timid White OC-39 by Benjamin Moore.
Countertop is “Kashmir White granite”, with a honed finish.
Backsplash are painted and sealed wood planks.
Barstools are “Emeco” by Design Within Reach.
Hood: It is a 42″ wide custom hood, made of character grade red oak planks, to match some beams in the adjacent room. It was built around a “Vent A Hood” unit.
Butler’s Pantry
This butler’s pantry is practical and stylish.
Dimensions: 8 feet wide, and six feet deep.
Laundry Room
Who wouldn’t love to have this laundry room at home?! It has plenty of space, storage and even a desk. This one is a 10!
Countertops: Over the washer and dryer the designer simply used a paint grade wood, and granite on the remaining spaces.
Dimensions: The room is roughly 22′ by 12′ and the floor is a natural slate stone.
Mudroom
Can a mudroom get any better than this? Well, you know me… I love built-ins and this one has separate zones for each member of the family. Genius!
Cabinet Paint Color: they’re also “Timid White by Benjamin Moore”.
Dimensions: 9′ x 20′.
Staircase
Railings were made by “Iron Works International” in Atlanta.
Bedroom
Imagine waking up every day in a bedroom like this… Doesn’t it feel peaceful and serene? That’s a nice way to start the day.
Dimensions: 20’x22′
Sitting Area
Once again, paint color is “Timid White, by Benjamin Moore”.
Flat for the walls, eggshell on the trims.
Bathroom
I posted this bathroom before in one of my “Interior Design Ideas” series and, even though I try my best to not repeat pictures, I obviously had to share this again with you. This bathroom is simply timeless!
Light fixture is an antique.
A Touch of Blue
What a lovely bedroom! Great head boards (love the color and design!) and light fixture. Notice the ceiling was painted in a very soothing blue.
The headboards were custom-made for this room.
Dimensions: 14′ x 14′.
Decor
Who would think of using a plate rack in a bedroom? But it works! These are great flea-market finds!
A Touch of Pink
If you’re little girl loves pink, this is a great paint color:
Wall Paint Color: “I Love You Pink” 2077 -70 by Benjamin Moore.
Den
Light and chick, this den is a delightful place to read. The light fixture is a “Tartufo Chandelier” by Currey & Co.
Back of the House
Beautiful family home with a great, flat backyard.
Pool & Patio
Color: The exterior paint color is a custom blend, and the metal is pre-finished aluminum, in a matte “dark bronze” color.
Floor is a square edge, random sized blue stone.
Outdoor Living Area
Get inspired by this beautiful outdoor living area and bring comfort to your outdoor space if you haven’t already. Now is the best time for that!

Love the neutrals! So easy to work with and not tire of. My favorite is to play it up with lots of textures on a grander scale and seasonally add in spots of color to create a new mood and an element of surprise. Beautiful and inspiring images! Thank you for sharing!!

What is the laundry room floor and mud room?Granite or another stone?
