The owners of this incredible traditional home requested a place that would welcome grown children, grandchildren, formal entertaining as well as relaxed living. The house has become home base for family gatherings, horseback riding, and keeping in touch with good friends.
The spaces in this home range from very private to places where all guests feel very welcome. There are multiple porches, a kitchen that accommodates 2 or 20 comfortably and 6 fireplaces. Multiple French doors allow views of the surrounding landscape as well as the pool house, while the long views across the valley provide a wonderful bonus to a very special place in Northern Connecticut.

Very ‘landed gentry’!
Hi Luciane..was away a few days and trying to catch up a little….such a beautiful stately home. Hope you are well…
I’m into well stated traditional design, but I also don’t steer away from tasteful modern design.. This house without doubt represents timeless elegance. I agree, the kitchen is fantastic, but I also prefer different countertop and backsplash, carrara marble would look much better, than black granite. I personaly lean towards honey onyx counters, and white polished subway tile for backsplash. In my opinion either marble or onyx would coordinate better with brown elements of the decor. What do you think? Otherwise amazing property and house…
I love everything about this home! While I probably would prefer Calacutta marble and/or white subway tiles, this is a very beautiful kitchen. Great post!
I like it because it is not “blingy”. I love the rustic touches more than the formality of the entry and formal living areas, including the “shabby chic” brick on the entrance posts! I would prefer an all-white kitchen. The views are perfect! What a beautiful home and garden you have shown – I live in Australia so lovely to see another part of the world!
I love black and white but I’m with you I think it needs white marble for countertops with the white cabinets and a different backsplash. Traditional is a little to formal for me.
i love this house and if filled with people i love i would never leave! the decor is what i strive for, personally, but with little money and talent. 😉 this house is perfection.
I love the fact that despite the traditional style which exudes a bit of formality, the overall look and feel of the entire house including the landscape design is still very welcoming and friendly. Definitely, a wonderful family house.
Possibly I could be an “adult foster child….maybe… franki
Lovely home. Agree on the countertops-marble would be better. I have soapstone countertops and wish I had chosen marble.
Luciane,
Sem dúvida a casa é linda e confortável, mas não é muito meu estilo. Já gosto de casa mais contemporâneas, móveis de linha mais retas e limpos. Mas não teria problemas em dormir naquela belÃssima cama do quarto principal!
abraço

Stunning…I can’t get enough of every detail…I would babysit the Grands for them anytime!
Every detail of the house is perfect. The landscape and garden design is exquisite. Certainly, a wonderful family house.
It’s a amazing house, I love it! Elegant and gorgeous.
xoxo
Actually, the kitchen countertops are dark green granite.
Sorry, the dining table I am referring to is the formal set, in the room with hand painted walls.
Thanks!
