If you like French interiors, you’ll be in heaven when you see this home. But if you think French interiors aren’t for you — if you feel they usually are too formal — well, then this home is what you probably need to see to change your mind. This French inspired home mixes traditional lines with refreshed new takes on French design.
According to the designers from YAWN Design Studio Inc., everything started with the homeowner request for muted and neutral tones. From there, a timeless and elegant home was beautifully crafted.
“Floor-to-ceiling vista windows allow vast quantities of daylight into the main rooms of the first floor. Shadows naturally highlight the panel moldings, plaster details and special touches. The neutral color palette of the background was selected so as not to obstruct your eye as you make your way through the spaces. The one exception was the use of American black walnut in the Living and Dining rooms. The dark floor allows a moment of refuge before entering the remaining areas throughout the first floor. This use of contrast is found once again as you ascend the stain grade treads in the fully paneled staircase vestibule to the second floor bedrooms.”
French interiors never looked so beautiful and you’re about to experience it.
French Inspired Home
This French inspired home is inspiring in every aspect — the architecture, the decor — everything was done with a great attention to detail and I am sure you will notice the quality of every element chosen for this place.
The paint color is “Wickham Gray HC -171 by Benjamin Moore”.
French Living Room
The stunning mirror is by Uttermost and is called Prisca. The table was from the owner’s collection.
French Decor
Arches and millwork are found everywhere in this house. They add so much to each space.
French Dining Room
As you probably know by now, I always prefer round tables in dining rooms. They bring people together and make the space feel more personal.
The chairs are by Hickory Chair.
French Kitchen
This French kitchen is a dream! I always try to incorporate a coffee area in the kitchens I design for my clients. This small table with the French chairs is perfect for that.
Kitchen Cabinets
The color palette is neutral but not boring. It has a calm feel, and it’s charming in every detail.
The cabinets are a custom color by Downsview Kitchens in Juno Beach, FL.
Open shelves are made of white marble, like the countertop.
Family Room
Everything is inspiring and perfectly done in this space. Notice the unique arch separating the family room from the kitchen.
The family room feels less formal with its French-country approach.
Café au Lait
Who wouldn’t like to have this family room, right? It’s stylish but also, very inviting. Anyone can feel comfortable here.
The beams are clear cypress.
Sunroom
It’s impossible to not fall in love with this sunroom. I honestly love everything here!
The floors are a honed limestone in a random pattern with tumbled edges.
French Eating Area
The eating area is comfortable and minimalist. Great chandelier and chairs.
Powder Room
Perfection can be found in this powder room. Every element complement the next in a surprising way.
Millwork & Floors
Fabulous floors and woodwork.
French Entryway
The architecture and millwork are spectacular.
French Bedroom
This bedroom is incredible!
The bed is the “Loire Canopy Bed” by Niermann Weeks.
His Bathroom
Timeless finishing are combined with striking architectural details in “his” bathroom.
The cabinets are maple with a custom glazed finish.
French Bathroom
Her bathroom is elegant and ultra-feminine.
White marble is found on the floors, bath and courtertop.
For Her
This bathroom have some unique details and I always enjoy seeing spaces that have something original. Notice the beautiful vanity and the designs on the cabinets. Isn’t this bathroom amazing?

How are you doing today? Did you have a good time here? I hope you did… I also hope you had a good weekend. It was busy around here, I did so much around the house and even managed to bake a chocolate cake with my daughter today. I am craving so much chocolate lately! It’s probably the weather… it’s getting colder, rainy, just like early Fall should feel.
So, what’s on your plate for this week? Well, I am not sure if you remember, but if you read my blog since the beginning of the year, you might recall that I ended-up at the hospital in March, almost having a surgery that actually never happened. Thank God it turned out that I didn’t have to have a surgery at that time, but we’ve scheduled a hospital procedure, followed by an endoscopy for this Tuesday.
I am not feeling scared, but of course it’s never fun to be at the hospital, right? I am hoping to be back home at the same day, but I will have to slow down a little after that. For this reason, I’ll be working some extra hours to prepare all the posts for you for the entire week. I will also keep you posted about how everything is around here, ok?
I know this is “simple”, but prayers are always welcome in my house!!! So, send them my way! 🙂
I wish the same to you! Health, Love, Life and Wisdom.
Let’s all have a very blessed and positive week!

I’m not feeling this house. I think it actually has a case of personality disorder rather than mixing two styles successfully; is it a beachy, rustic “cottage-y”, French, or American traditional? The bigger issue is that I’m not interested enough in this house to really care. The neutral-ness of this house (the paint, the decor, the floors) seems to only neutralize anything interesting rather than make things stand out.
Dear Luciane,
How are you ? Hope everything is ok with you and your beautiful family?
The house you posted today is to die for!! That hallway is marvellous!
Thank you so much for always inspiring us with your gorgeous houses!
xx
Greet
Must admit, I YAWNed with this house….despite my French Canadian heritage, I am not a lover of French decor. Having said that, I would take the sun room any day! 🙂
Hope you are feeling okay, and we want you to know you are in our thoughts and prayers with this procedure. Ps, I had one done this summer, too, and I know you will be just fine! Xoxox
A little too ‘frenchy’ for me, but I agree with the lady above, the sunroom is lovely.
Those mirrors!!! Those chandeliers!!! What an astonishing home…I would call it home in a heartbeat!! Positive thoughts going your way!! Keep us “posted.” franki
You have outdone yourself..this is absolutely gorgeous!! love the neutral interiors but oh so beautiful! Thanks Luciane…have a super day!
Your posts are always so well done. It is obvious that much thought goes into them! Prayers headed your way for good results and quick healing! Laura
Although I love the decor of this house, it is very white! Definitely not for kids or dogs! Or one would be cleaning all the time.
Good luck on your procedure, thoughts and prayers are with you.
love, love, love!!!
Luciane, all good thoughts and positive energy coming your way!
Thanks for your many inspiring posts–you have surrounded yourself with beauty and it will be returned to you. 🙂

Beijo querida!

Luciane, I think this home is gorgeous and the sunroom is my favorite. Sending good thoughts and prayers to you and wishing a speedy recovery.
Hugs,
Sherry
First your health is number one and I send all my prayers to you and your family for good results. Second thank you for blogging your talent has opened ideas and places I have never seen or thought of. I love this post all the molding…I love the ceiling and stairs with the molding. i have a curved staircase with sadly NO molding so photos like this help me to imagine when the time comes what I want.
Lovely French-inspired home. My husband loved looking at it too and got very inspired (as we’re currently doing up our own place!).
Thank you for your blog! You add photos which inspire me to create new solutions in my house and fit me in good mood. I also think that you are really good writer. I hope your blog will be famous soon.
P. S. Sorry for my english 🙂
would love to know the paint color in dining room and kitchen, that cabinet in kitchen is stunning.
Wow! I’m in love with everything about this house! It is beautiful! This would be my dream home! Love it!!
Everything looks so majestic! I love this style
