Some of us like to live in spaces that feel completely neutral, with soft color palettes that are quiet and calm. Others, like in this home, like to spice neutral spaces up with color and texture.
I try to share interiors designed by Martha O’Hara Interiors and her designers as often as I can. I like to include them on my “Interior Design Ideas” series whenever possible because I feel they’re full of inspiration and it’s hard to find people who doesn’t like her approach for design. She always knows what’s she’s doing.
And it’s no different this time around. Martha O’Hara designed this Minnesota home bringing warmth, style and a few surprises that only her team can manage come up with.

Interior Design by Martha O’Hara Interiors
This living room feels airy and stylish. Paint Color is “Valley Forge Tan AC-35 by Benjamin Moore”.
Ottoman: Stewart Furniture, with fabric by Villa Romo; chandelier: Visual Comfort.
Kitchen Design
This white kitchen is modern but it has plenty of character. The backsplash is a honed marble, with a mosaic design in the inside.
I love the fabric on the stools! The stools are from Vanguard and the fabric is “Sarawak – Tutti-Frutti”.
The kitchen island is painted charcoal and topped with Argento granite; the counters at the rear are Carrara marble.
Lanterns: Visual Comfort.
Peek-a-Boo
A barn-style door opens to the butcher’s pantry, making it easier to bring food to the dining room.
Dining Room
Paint Color: Walls: “Ozark Shadows AC-26 by Benjamin Moore”.
Trim Color is “White Dove OC-17 Benjamin Moore”.
Chandelier: Century Furniture; Table: cFc.
Staircase & Window-seat
This staircase is just perfect! I love the attention to detail found here.
Imagine reading here overlooking the trees… very relaxing.
Master Bedroom
A great way to brighten up a bedroom is with painted nightstands. In this case, Martha O’Hara wanted to maintain a calming environment with neutral wall colors and bedding. To add a bit of cheer to the space, they upholstered two lounge chairs and painted both nightstands similar shaded of aqua.
Paint Color: “Winter Gates AC-30 by Benjamin Moore”.
Home Office
This office feels masculine without being serious.
Paint Color is “Metallic Silver 2132-60 by Benjamin Moore”.
Basement
Want to keep your man at home? Build a basement like this!;-)
The floor is covered with 3- by 6-inch travertine tiles.
Playing Games
Isn’t it this coolest game table ever? So stylish!

Bar
Beautiful elements are found here and I love its pub overall look.
A Touch of Metal
This foot rail was salvaged from a train track near the husband’s childhood farm.
Laundry Room
What a dreamy laundry room! Pink walls and a delicate wallpaper mixes perfectly with industrial stools and slate floors. Useful and gorgeous!
