For the families with children it’s nice to create the most homely and fun-loving home for your children as not only is the home a place to live in but it is also a great place to make memories for them.
Most parents decorate their children’s home in their child’s favorite colors or some even go a bit further and create a playroom for them but if you really want to go that extra mile then why not look into building a treehouse in your garden!?
A treehouse is the perfect way to entertain your children as they can play games and have adventures in there (which also gets them outside) and they can impress their friends when they have them round to play.
If you are thinking about building a treehouse in the garden of your home then you need to follow the following steps to ensure you are planning everything correctly:
First all you must choose the right tree as the health of the tree is crucial to the foundation of the entire treehouse as you want your children to be safe at all times. When picking your tree you must make sure it is sturdy and healthy and the best trees for this are oak, maple and apple.
With most projects which take place outside the home it is important to check with the local planning department about whether you can build a treehouse due to height restrictions and for various other reasons and it is better to be safe than sorry.
Another very important thing to do is to talk to your home insurance company and check that your policy covers any potential damage caused by the treehouse – which hopefully will never be needed!
Once you have looked into the above pointers and everything is good to go then you can start looking into building the treehouse. If you are confident with DIY then purchase your tools from Alan Wadkins Toolstore and if not then try looking up treehouse tutorials, online or in newspapers for someone who can build one for you!

These are amazing tree-houses. I love it when cubbys go “through” a tree (or vice versa!). My son is 11 and it’s a few years since he had one, but this is inspiring me to think about another one for him!!! 🙂
