I must say I am very eclectic when it comes to what I want in my space. Sometimes I fall in love with a very contemporary chair, sometimes I wish I had an antique settee, sometimes I dream with a rustic farmhouse style table. Some people just know how to have many different styles and, even when they shouldn’t belong together, somehow they just seem to be perfect in a room. I am still talking about furniture, although it also happens with people all the time.
Today I will share another passion of mine: French Design. Sure it can be very formal, but also so elegant and many times so “homey”.
I hope you enjoy some of my favorite French Interiors.
Modern Parisian Kitchen
I simply love the combination of elements like the marble, the beautiful floor and the stainless steel appliances.
Rustic French
This Kitchen is more rustic with a dose of contemporary to bring it to the next level.
The farm-style sink has rustic edge that’s tempered by the modern pendant light.
Très Chic
Wow! This is a really well designed kitchen that isn’t overdone. Herringbone patterned hardwood floors and framed French doors with leaded glass elevate the European country, luxe look.
French Dinning Room
French luxury is layered into the mix with a Basque table runner and dramatic dark silk-and-cotton drapes from Paris.
Stately Dinning Room
This beautiful dinning room features a 19th century Louis XVI mirror, French Directoire chairs and a mahogany Regency dinning table.
Croissant, Anyone?
Authentic marble-top bistro table at Les Puces de St-Ouen flea market near Paris for under $150.
Parisian Flair Fireplace
High and low items mix effortlessly in the living room. The antique mirror over the mantel rang in at over $500, but is perfectly at home with the vintage trunk scooped up for under $100.
Simplicity
Very comfortable, very simple and lightly touched by blue.
Sitting Area
I would love to relax in this room or rock on that rocking chair. Note the sconces.
The Piece de Resistence
The claw-foot tub is positioned on an angle for a dramatic effect.
Powder Room
Stunning wallpaper! I also like the ladder. Very practical and stylish way to display fluffy towels.
The ideal French Interior has to be elegant, yet it has to feel approachable. A room never “speaks” to me if you feel that you can’t live in it. The rooms above are well designed and it feels like “home”, not simply a page in a magazine. That’s how we want to live, connecting beauty with practicality.
I wish you all a safe and Blessed weekend. Be good, eat well and enjoy life!
We’ll talk soon!
with Love,
