Designed by the very talented Jan Geysteen Architects Inc., this traditional home is inspiring inside and out.
Filled with traditional accents, this home features a stylish and thoroughly livable interior. A covered entry and spacious foyer fronts a classic dining area. Walking down the hallway, you will find a meticulously designed staircase and the public living spaces including a large traditional white kitchen with an expansive island and nearby eating nook, family room, powder room and a dream mudroom with plenty of storage for all the family members. The right side of the house includes a sunny covered porch with fireplace and expansive views of a flat backyard — perfect for kids or pets.
This is the kind of home that’s easy to picture yourself living in. Take a look and dream away!
Traditional Home with Inspiring Interiors
What a curb-appeal! I love the gambrel roofing and the gray shingles. Classically designed.
Front Door Decorating ideas
A charming covered entry creates charm and interest to the entry.
Front Entry
As soon you enter this home you can feel its elegance and it’s calmness.
The interior designer, Kate Coughlin, chose soft colors to play against the neutral color scheme.
Chandelier is by “Currey & Co”.
Traditional Staircase
This traditional staircase is sublime. I really like the millwork, the custom spindles and the curved bottom steps.
Bright White Kitchen
Who doesn’t love a classic white kitchen, right?
The accent tile over the cooktop is the “Timeless Thassos 1” marble mosaic from AKDO.
Traditional White Kitchen
Kitchen Countertop Ideas: The island counter is mahogany with a custom stain and the perimeter countertop is Caesarstone.
Eating Nook
I am a big fan of eating nooks, especially sunny ones. This is perfect for family living.
Light Fixture: This is the “E.F. Chapman Classic Ring Chandelier”.
Family Room
This family room is all about comfort! Note the stunning windows and arched transoms.
Powder Room
You won’t be bored in this powder room!
Wallpaper is from Osborne and Little.
Mudroom
How dream is this mudroom?! Each member of the family has its own (separate) cubbies.
This mudroom is set between the kitchen and dining room (to the left) and the garage (to the right) with the breakfast room behind.
The wood on the benches is oak.
Backyard
This backyard is perfect for kids! I can picture them running around… and how about summer parties? You can invite the whole family over for a BBQ! 🙂
Porch
Sunday afternoons can get a little lazier here… 🙂

Many thanks for the photos . They really made me calm .
Re. your question , what makes a house like a home is its teadiness , bright colours , clean and originzed . Everything should be completely clean and in its place . Empty space is another important factor . I mean to fill up your house with lots of furniture . Let the surface of your kitchen be empty . let the table fill just by one item . Let your beds be originazed to see more space and calmness .
Hi Ramak.
Good ideas! I think that an organized home can definitely feel calmer and more “zen”… the less stressful a home appears to be, the more welcoming it should feel.

Love the outdoor patio with the gas grill set against the wall. How would you handle the ventilation/cooking fumes from that placement? Is there a ventilation fan?
Hi GRC,
Yes, i believe there is… I am sure the architect/builder thought of this.
Thank you for your comment!

Just a perfekt house! Inside and oustside.
Lu, acho que casa , ao menos para mim é aquele lugar onde eu me sinto feliz, segura e em paz! Lindas imagens, amei aquela janela ampla, meio em arco, simplesmente maravilhosa!

Wonderful “magic hour” photos of the home second and third from the top. The magic hour is a term and practice known by good photographers and film makers. It is filming or taking stills approximately when sky light and interior light is balanced. This occurs somewhere within the first hour before sunrise or within the hour after sunset. The sky in these pictures must have been quite clear and thus very blue. Yet unlike a midnight photo the exterior would be almost black and so would the sky. and the interior lighting would be too washed out…..this “magic hour” photography: It is peaceful yet surreal….. So the grey exterior takes on that blue shade. the white exterior parts show less of a blue tint, but its no problem. the photography was perfect in getting that balance of man made light and providential light if you will. and i am happy that conventional warm lighting was coming from the interior than flourescent. if it was the latter it would be a not so pleasent greenish. but every shade has its day depending on what type of photo you want My sincere appreciation and commendation to the photographer Richard Mandelkorn. from a fellow but now retired photographer due to disability. thank you again, so much….. 🙂
continued…Richard Madelkorn, i’m thinking you may have used some supplemental flash in the close up of the second evening exterior photo in the upstairs interior and the exterior portico. yes, no? at all events, splendid photography.
