Finding an interior designer is not always easy. Your taste should be, in certain way, connected to the designer’s work. I often have clients coming to me saying that they know we will be a good team because they see my taste being expressed over and over here on the blog.
Something similar happened to these homeowners and their interior designer. Garrison Hullinger Interior Design Inc. had once designed this couple’s Florida vacation condo and they knew who to call when the time came to design their East Coast inspired family home.
The homeowners paired with the designers and an award-winning East Coast architect to help transform their once cramped, dark and less than functional home into a spacious, fully functional and modernized one for their family of five. The home features family-friendly interiors that has a grown-up feel without being unapproachable.
The home remodel included a new kitchen, family room, mud room, three-car garage/basketball court, home office, four bedrooms, basement lounge and bar, and home gym. Garrison Hullinger Interior Design Inc. selected fabrics and materials that could stand the test of time with the family in mind. They also made sure to incorporate some sophistication by using warm tones throughout which helped accentuate the beautiful architectural details of this East Coast inspired home. By addressing the homeowner’s needs for a multi-use space, this home’s interiors seamlessly bridge form and function.
Undoubtedly, the homeowners were beyond excited about the way the designer was able to select beautiful yet durable finishes that reflect their active lifestyle and resulted in a space that serves the family in a timeless manner.
East Coast Inspired Family Home
Classic architectural details make this foyer to feel timeless. Paint Color is “Benjamin Moore White Dove”.
Also, notice the tree. It brings color and earthiness to this space.

How fun it this?! Placing books inside of the fireplace brings personality and to this living room.

Living Room Furnishings
The leather chairs were custom made for the project, but its very similar to Delano chair by Bernhardt.
Table is the Helix Chairside table and lamp is the Contemporary Robert Abbey Logan Aged Brass and Black Table Lamp.
Dining Room
The dining room features a warm wallpaper, two-toned draperies and beautiful lighting.
Wall Sconces are the Chapman Normandy 3 Light from Visual Comfort.
Lighting is the Thomas OBrien Farlane 12 Light Chandelier.

Wallpaper is the Mosaic Dapple ZMOSO7004 by Zoffany.
Kitchen
You know I love white kitchens and I have to say this is my favorite one right now. It has everything I love in a white kitchen. It features my favorite kitchen cabinet paint color (more about that below), Marble kitchen island countertop, dark hardwood flooring, and coffered ceiling. Even the cabinet layout in this kitchen is perfect!
Kitchen Lighting
Kitchen Lighting are the The Crown Jewel Industrial Pendant by Hudson Goods. My new favorite!
Perimeter countertop is Polished Quartz. Color: Stormy Sky.
Backsplash
Backsplash is marble and “Soho Studio Backsplash Mosaic Asian Sanctuary Mosaic”.
Wall Paint Color
Benjamin Moore Shale.
Hardware is the Emtek Geometrical Cabinet Pull.
The island measures approx 11’4″ x 3’10”.
Countertop
Island countertop is White Arabesque Honed Marble.
Faucet is the “Quincy Pull Down Faucet by Kallista”.

The breakfast nook was custom designed to fit eight people.

The family room carries a earthy-tone color palette that feels welcoming and warm.
The designer had the hide-on-hair pillows made.

I am loving the color scheme in this family room and the millwork.

Also notice the bar located on the other side of this room. Nicely designed with Bianco Antico marble countertop.
Kids Study
This home also features an impressive kids study with shipslap walls, custom built-ins and window seat.
Hardware: Pulls are Hickory Hardware (Rotterdam Cabinet Pull) and the knobs are “Amerock Knob”.
Lighting is the “E.F. Chapman Victoria 1 Light Pendant”.
Home Office

Mud Room
With porcelain tiles and plenty of storage space, this mud room is not only beautiful but also practical.

Flooring is Fango Sand Porcelain Tile.
Staircase Decor
Bench is the “Ardmore Bench by Kasaboo Home” and staircase runner is the “Masland Carpet in Stone Mist”.
Floors are Vallelunga Tabula Noce 6 x 36. How gorgeous is that?!

Custom Wall Panel Mural
Here, the designer explains more about this mural. “We purchased the rights to the image from the artist, then www.pixersize.com was used to print the over-scale mural. The finish carpenter made the raised panels out of plywood and attached to the wall. The wallpaper hanger cut the mural into strips and applied to the panels to create the unique effect”.
