Many kitchen trends come and go but gray kitchens aren’t going away any time soon and the kitchen you’re about to see is not only the ultimate gray kitchen design but it also features the ultimate kitchen ideas!
Designed by the beautiful and talented Leigha Heydt from Heydt Designs and furnished by none other than Benjamin Dhong from Benjamin Dhong Interiors, this kitchen is pure inspiration, from its timeless materials and aesthetics to its family-friendly open concept.
Take a look at these pictures and take note of the many sources shared by the designers. They’re even sharing the paint colors! Ready to get inspired? So let’s do it!
The Ultimate Gray Kitchen Design Ideas
First things first! I took a look at this kitchen and I immediately needed to know the paint color. Don’t you feel the same way? I love the combination of dark gray island with the pale gray cabinets. The island paint color is “Benjamin Moore Whale Gray 2134-40”.
Mirror is from Restoration Hardware.
Kitchen Bookshelf Tile
What a great idea of adding an open cabinet with tiled back. The bookshelf cabinet in this kitchen features Calacatta d’Oro marble tiles. The tile was cut into a 3″ x 12″ size.
Gray Kitchen Countertop
The island and perimeter countertops in this gray kitchen is Calacatta d’Oro marble. Calacatta d’Oro is a white and grey stone with bits of gold and rust colors mixed in.
Kitchen Sink & Faucet
The kitchen sink faucet is the very classic Rohl Perrin & Rowe Bridge Faucet with sidespray #U.4718-2 in polished nickel. The apron sink is Rohl RC3618BS Shaws Original Single Bowl Fireclay Apron Front Kitchen Sink 36″.
Gray Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color
The cabinet paint color is one of my favorites for gray kitchens: “Gray Owl OC-52 Benjamin Moore”.
Range is Wolf 48″ Gas Range 6 Burners R486G.
Hardware: The kitchen knobs are Lugarno Knob by Restoration Hardware. Pulls are Lugarno Pull also from Restoration Hardware.
Orbit Chandelier
The stunning orbit chandelier is Galaxy Chandelier by Mr. Brown (around $1,800).
Refrigerator is a Sub-Zero Pro 48 Refrigerator/Freezer with Glass Door.
Dining Room
This dining room carries the same casual elegance we find in the kitchen.
Chairs are Chevron Riviera Side Chair in Navy by Serena & Lily. Table is Big Sur Natural 90.5″ Dining Table by Crate and Barrel.
Island barstools are Tolix Marais Counter Stool in white.
Room Dimensions
The room is 35′-8″ long by 23′-5″ deep. The kitchen and dining room portions are both about 12′ wide.
Rug: The designer, Benjamin Dhong, had a custom Seagrass carpet cut for this room. It’s definitely a great addition to this space.
Windows and doors are Sierra Pacific.
Wall Paint Color
The walls and cabinetry are all the same color. It is Benjamin Moore “Gray Owl’ OC-52. The designer used a satin sheen on the cabinets, moldings, doors and windows, and an eggshell sheen on the walls. The ceiling is Benjamin Moore ‘Pure White’ OC-64, in a flat sheen.
The oil painting is by Michael A Diliberto. Isn’t it stunning? I am loving his paintings! It works perfectly with the honed “Bardiglio Marble” fireplace surround.
Open Concept Kitchen Floor Plan
The room is 35′-8″ long by 23′-5″ deep. The kitchen portion is within that (12′-5″ by 23′-5″).

Hello, my beautiful friends! How wonderful it is to have you here today. I really hope you had a good time, could relax a little and learned something new. Aren’t these things important in life?
I missed my post yesterday because I wasn’t feeling well… but I’m better today. I took the day to rest, take care of my kids and pray. It’s funny saying this, but I feel I’m always praying… not the “conventional” prayer, but I am always talking to God. I’m often directing my mind, my thoughts to Him. I’m sure He’s tired of me already.. LOL.. But I don’t just ask.. LOL I thank Him for so much He does for us. In fact, I even thank Him for every person that comes to the blog.
I mentioned many times about my grandfather here and trust me, his battle keeps getting harder but we have seen miracles happening in despite of it all. So, how could I not talk, thank and even cry a little to Him? 🙂
Life will always have its ups-and-downs, it will always have its moments of glory and its moments of tears, but one thing is certain; we are never alone. No matter how lonely we might feel in a situation, we are not alone. Every rock thrown at our feet is there for a reason, it’s there to teach us something and make us better and wiser than we once were.
Seeing someone I love so dearly slowly loosing his entire health has made me have many different emotions. I felt angry, sad, mad, you name it… but after all of these desperate moments, where I feel completely powerless, a moment of peace arrives and I notice I have learned something new. I comprehend that nothing is completely controllable in our lives. People aren’t made to stay here forever, no matter how deep our love for them are.
Personally, this is a moment that I’m learning that my grandfather’s suffering cannot and will not define the strong man he was and still is in his mind and spirit.
I guess the lesson I am learning is that nothing can really change our core. The purest part of our soul always stays untouched and it’s this part that helps me understand that my grandfather’s core is still the same, is still strong and it will always be full of life.
I hope you look inside of your heart today and know that you, the real you, has never changed because it was perfectly created.
Be open to learn what you need to learn in this life, but always keep in mind the purity of your soul.
