This coastal home, designed by Chango & Co., truly features one of the most beautiful and classic coastal color palettes I have seen and I needed to share it with you today.
The Dutch Colonial Long Island home once was in need of some serious updates. The renovation of the homeโs interior allowed for a redesigned kitchen, the inclusion of extensive paneling and millwork, and the final interior design elements were introduced as bold shocks of character, color and pattern on the finished spaces. An irreverent mix of fabrics transforms otherwise formal spaces, seldom used in a previous life, into playful and inviting areas that ask to be taken inโฆ but not taken too seriously. Caning, bamboo, raffia and grasscloth hearken back to a bygone era, but play nicely with modern polished nickels, lucite details and easy-wear floor coverings, and each element conspires to create a home which is both easy to care for and easy to feel at home in.
This home now channels the warmth and texture influenced by the tropics with a coastal color palette that can be used in any part of the country. Who knows, this might even make you want to try it at home.
Home with Inspiring Coastal Color Palette
Warm white walls work perfectly with the sisal stair runner and the blue and white striped rug. Paint color is “Benjamin Moore Maritime White 963”.
Stair runner is from Stanton Carpet.
Best Friend
It’s always great to get home to the “people” you love, isn’t it? Yesterday I shared a home with a kitten in the foyer. Did you see that? Adorable!
Lighting is from Worlds Away. Drum flush mount lights are a great option if you have low ceiling in your foyer.
Bell
An antique anchor bell adds a coastal feel to the stairway.
Wainscoting
Foyer wainscoting paint color “Benjamin Moore Frostine AF-5”.
I’m loving the 7 drawer Barnett birch wood bamboo dresser. Isn’t it pretty?
Floor Plan
The foyer opens directly to the formal dining room. Notice the beautiful colors used in this room.
Bench was made to order.
Dining room
This dining room is incredible! There’s nothing sleepy or boring here, right? The space features grasscloth on upper walls and stacked wainscoting on lower walls.
The fiddle leaf fig plants accentuate the bay windows.
Chairs
The faux bamboo dining chairs are Dayna Side Chairs by Ballard Designs.
Lighting
Lighting is “Darlana Linear Chandelier” from Circa Lighting.
Table
Table is “Restoration Hardware Salvaged Wood Trestle Rectangular Extension Dining Table”. Couldn’t they get a longer name for this table? ๐
Butler’s Pantry
The dining room opens directly to a butler’s pantry with gray cabinets and walnut butcher’s block countertop.
Family Space
A long room houses the kitchen, eating area and the family room.
The dining area features a Small Arch Top Lantern from Circa Lighting.
Table is from Restoration Hardware.

This white kitchen is extraordinary! Cabinet paint color is Benjamin Moore Frostine AF-5.

Here, a slipcovered ticking stripe sofa with rolled-arms divide the family room from the dining area and kitchen.
Navy
A small hallway features a bold Ikat blue and navy on white manila hemp wallpaper.
Dresser is a Bungalow 5 Jacqui 4 Drawer Dresser.
Sunroom
This sunroom is welcoming and elegant. I would love to have something similar to this at home!
Walls
Walls are covered in Raffia wallpaper from Phillip Jeffries.
Living Room
The sunroom opens to the formal living room. Paint color is Benjamin Moore Maritime White 963 in flat finish.
Coastal
A white dresser displays a charming coastal vignette.
A Day at the Beach
This living room feels almost as if you’ve brought the beach to home with you. It has the right mix of tranquil colors, organic textures and playful accents.

this house really resonates with me. We live in the sub tropics where it is so bright and I use this color scheme in our coastal interiors to get some depth. Neutrals can quickly wash out here. Simply gorgeous home at every turn. Thank you.
Hi Luciane! This house is beautiful and the colors, textures, and designs work together beautifully. I love the faithful dog waiting at the front door too ๐
I have been so busy of late and have several months worth of HomeBunch blogs to catch up and binge on. Looking forward to it ๐
Hope all is well with you and your family.
