Located by the sandy beaches of Edgartown, Massachusetts, this beach house features one of the most soothing interiors I have seen. The entire main floor seems to be kissed by the warm sand while a splash of turquoise and blue bring in the colors of the sea.
Instead of nautical stripes or blue and white decor, Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design is known for a refined mix of muted shades with gradations from room to room. In this beach house, the designers layered textures, used organic fabrics and mixed clean lines from a creamy white kitchen with transitional furnishings.
While the main floor is all about keeping everything neutral and quiet, the basement of this home has an opposite vibe. Colorful fabrics and wallpaper wakes you up and invites you in for some summer fun.

It’s easy to live with an organized kitchen like that. Turquoise and teal decor brings some color to this neutral space.

A kitchen pantry with open shelves and lower cabinets is located just off the kitchen.
Neutral Countertop
A neutral stone grounds the off-white cabinetry in this kitchen. The same stone is repeated as backplash for a muted look.
Countertop is similar to Limestone.
Kitchen Window
A natural linen shade dresses the kitchen window in an elegant and subtle way.
Breakfast Nook
From quintessentially-coastal turquoise to soft creamy shades of white, this kitchen show us that the best interiors use color in a balanced way.

Blue Chair
These simple blue dining chairs contrast beautifully against the custom dining table and wide plank wood floors.
Turquoise
In the living room, turquoise, creamy whites, sandy taupes, and wooden furniture creates an ethereal yet grounded mix.
Living Room
Not only does this living room balance light and creamy whites well, it also brings in natural elements in a subtle way.
For the furnishings, the designer chose pieces scaled to suit the large room.
Butler’s Pantry
Butler’s pantry features wide plank hardwood floors and vertical wall paneling.
Lighting
This creamy white butler’s pantry also features a gooseneck barn lighting above the cabinets.
Master Bedroom
This neutral master bedroom features impressive grasscloth carpet floors.
Bathroom
Soft grays are combined with marble in this bathroom for a crisp look.
Pink & Green
Gorgeous girl’s bedroom with hot pink grasscloth wallpaper accenting the headboard wall. A window seat is tucked across the bed.
Basement
This basement is completely the opposite from the main rooms of this house. It features a mix of navy with green and lime colors. A new and fresh take on masculine decor!
