I am incredibly happy to have a close friend of mine being featured on the Home Bunch today. Interior designer Kate Abt, from Kate Abt Design, knows how to transform any space and she did an amazing job on this master bedroom and master bathroom. Here she explains more about this project, shares the paint colors, decor and gives some tips on how to make the most of any space!

This was an addition/renovation for my clients who wanted to create a relaxing master suite. They both lead very busy lives with their careers and young family and they wanted a bedroom that felt like a retreat. The existing master was very small and had a deck off of the bedroom that overlooked the water but was rarely used. So the bedroom footprint was expanded to include the deck area to create a larger light and airy bedroom with a new walk in closet and bathroom. We flipped the closet/bathroom around so it was more practical and expanded both to make better use of the space.
Draperies: Hardware is from Antique Drapery Rod company with custom linen curtains
Wood Floors: Mohawk 5″ Sinclair Whiskey Maple.
Rug: Loloi – Journey.
The builder was able to incorporate a vaulted ceiling and add beams in the bedroom which my clients really wanted. Being near the water we were limited to expanding the footprint to just the deck area so we got creative.
Lighting is Visual Comfort Darlana.
Bedding: One Kings Lane.
Pillow: custom
Nightstands: Restoration Hardware.
The mirrors above the nightstands are by Image Home.
Lamps: Ralph Lauren.
This cheerful yet delicate artwork is custom from Etsy.
Headboard: Pottery Barn.
Bedroom Paint Color: Decorator’s White by Benjamin Moore.
Chair is Ballard Designs Regency in custom Clark and Clark Buffalo Check fabric.
The closet doors feature lucite pulls. They’re from Luxholdups Home.
Cabinet paint color is Benjamin Moore OC-20 Decorator’s White.
Faucets are Kohler Purist in Brushed Gold. Countertop is Carrera marble.
Cabinet hardware is Top Knobs Aspen in Light Bronze finish.
Opposite the vanity we had a small space that really wasn’t going to be used well so we had a custom storage dresser made again adding the all important storage but making it look like a beautiful piece of furniture.
The heated Carrera marble flooring adds a timeless feel to the master bathroom.
Bench with lucite legs is from HomeGoods.
My clients didn’t feel the need for a bathtub and preferred more storage. The shower kept the same footprint but became a relaxing stream shower again with Carrera marble.
Flooring is Herringbone black blizzard marble.
