Decorate with 60 percent of the dominant color, 30 percent of the secondary color, and 10 percent of your accent color.

Take a hike around your neighborhood to see how spring flowers accent the local fences and foliage. You can also check out environmentally friendly design materials, taking that natural feel to another level.
Travel through a fabric store to see the array of purples you can choose from to make that royal room shine for your favorite little princess. Perhaps you’d like to explore a library to understand how gold leafed pages interact with dark bindings in reds, greens, and golds.
Studying color is both academic and organic. Take your inspiration wherever you can find it, and apply the principles you learn from talented designers and instructors to tie it all together. Take the first step in your interior decoration career by understanding color theory.
