Mel Gibson has been trying to sell a few of his houses for quite a while now and this one, located in the Serra Retreat neighborhood, has been on sale since he divorced his ex-wife Robyn. The house was originally listed for $14,500,000, but after a couple realtor changes and price drops, it can now be had for a cool $11,750,000.
The home is situated on 2.56 sprawling acres which include fruit orchards, organic gardens, a tennis court, a two-story entertainment area with a built-in barbecue, a swimming pool, spa, three guest houses, a detached gym, and a garden cabana with game room that opens up to the backyard. The main hacienda (sounds so chic, don’t you think? “Where are going this weekend? I’m going to my hacienda. Ole!”) has 6 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and a truly unique chef’s kitchen.
I’ll tell this… A hacienda is not the kind of house I imagine living at, but I’d love to have it as a country house. Somewhere to go to enjoy the weekends and breathe some fresh air. What about you? Take a look and tell me what you think of this place!
Gates
Gorgeous iron gates.
You May Come In
Notice the name of the farm on the right.
Privacy
The property is surrounded by trees and gardens, adding even more privacy.
Beautiful
Very beautiful gardens.
Getting Close
The garages.
The Main House
Hacienda in the best style.
Colors
Isn’t it so inviting?
Foyer
The doors are like a treasure. Gorgeous!
Living Room
The furnishings look great in this kind of house.
Sofas
I simply love white sofas like these ones, but I don’t attempt to have them with 2 (almost 3) small children around the house.
Living and Dining
A good view of the living room and dining room.
Sunroom
I’d like to have more comfortable furniture here, but I really like this space.
Chefs and Bricks
I’m sure this kitchen was used by Mel’s chef. Take a look the ranges. Now, this is still so charming and I love, love, love the brick ceiling and floor.
Chandelier
That green chandelier is just the perfect touch for this kitchen. The cabinets could be updated, but I find them to go pretty good with the tiles and the house overall.
Eating Area
The hacienda’s slow and colorful lifestyle.
Courtyard
I’d love to read a newspaper or magazine in the sun here every morning.
Thoughts
A place I’d curl up in with a book or just to analyze life and dream…
Den
Every room in this house feels totally relaxed. I think that’s the purpose of this place: Go there and relax.
Master Bedroom
I love, love this room! The bed is gorgeous, but I think the area needs more furniture. Adding some chairs and a rug would make it feel cozier. But I’m truly in love with this bedroom, especially the ceiling.
Master Bathroom
So charming!
Another Bathroom
I’m not a huge fan of this one.
Pool
Who wouldn’t like to spend sunny days here, right?
Brain & Muscles
Chess, anyone?
Play
Or would you prefer tennis?
Man’s Cave
Of course, Mel Gibson needed to have a “man cave!”
Friends
I can picture Mel here laughing out loud with friends.
Food
Every man space should come with a BBQ like this one.
Like a Bird
An arial view of the property.

What do you think of Mel Gibson’s hacienda? Did you like it? Would you pay $11 mil for it or is it not your style at all?
