Almost any cottage has its charm, but whenever I hear about cottages in Spain I picture something very similar to this one. Originality and history are essential in a Spanish cottage and this one has it all.
The owners decided to ask interior designer Mikel Larrinaga to help them restore this place that once used to be a rural school. The designer did an absolutely amazing job preserving the best qualities of the space and brought it back to life once again. The result is a country cottage that isn’t easy to forget and can make any one of us dream about a place like this in Spain.
Disfruta-te!
The Main
This is the main space of the house which holds the living room and dining room. Many of the furnishings were bought in a flea market in Paris. Make sure to not miss those outstanding beams.
Arts & Letters
An antique console becomes a desk.
Let’s Eat
This is pure perfection! I love every detail of this room.
Botanics
These botanics are from the 60’s.
Kitchen
The stone walls were conserved and add so much to this space.
Take Note
The other wall in the kitchen. This antiqued farm table was bought in France.
Bedroom
The bedroom feels cozy and rustic.
Bathroom
This bathroom has a more modern feel to it.
Covered Patio
The covered patio allows the homeowners to enjoy an al fresco dinning experience in any kind of weather.
I see this place and I really dream of having a cottage in Spain. Wouldn’t that be fantastic? Especially if the place had so much beauty and history like this one. I hope you’ve enjoy it as much as I did.
I know we’re in September already and I’ve started the “Cottage of the Week” to celebrate summer with you, but since we all love cottages so much and summer isn’t over yet, I’ll continue it until Fall starts, ok? I hope you don’t mind! 🙂
Be happy, be healthy and be safe today!
