Kitchen ideas are always welcoming. Don’t you agree? I know so many people that don’t even cook but are crazy over a beautiful and stylish kitchen. Why is that? Maybe because no matter what, we all end up in our kitchens at the end of the day. Whenever someone thinks reno, they usually start with the kitchen, which is actually a smart idea, in case you decide to sell your house someday. But much more than that, kitchens truly are the heart of a house, where not only we prepare our food but also where we gather to talk and even to do some errands.
I’ve select some kitchens that I think are not only beautiful, but also very functional. Some are big, but most of them are not. I’m a huge believer of “realistic spaces”. That means, even though I love seeing huge spaces in magazines all perfectly done for the photo shoot, I still prefer feel inspired by spaces I can actually achieve with the square footage I have right here at home.
Tobi’s Magic
Interior designer Tobi Farley worked her “magic” once again with this spectacular kitchen. One of my favorites at the moment.
Look
Nothing was overlooked in this space.
In Our Minds
Everybody wants the white cabinets and white subway. Are you on that list too?
Calmness
Gorgeous window treatment and everything feels very calming in this kitchen.
Let’s Cook!
I’d love to cook in this kitchen!
Eating Area
I look at this eating area and I feel calling Tobi to ask when she’s free to do the same in my house!
Crème Brûlée
This kitchen is very neutral and its traditional lines are really beautiful.
Home Sugar Home
This is achievable to many, many of us. First of all, you don’t need too much space, the cabinets and island will not break the bank and make your husband mad! Actually, many times we can paint the cabinets we already have. This is such a sweet space. Perfect in many ways!
Dishes
It’s a bit cottage-y and very “homey”.
Eating Area
Not only this kitchen is great but also the eating area. Notice it on the left.
Higher Expectations
This is a classic! I can’t imagine this kitchen feeling outdated, not even in 20 years. It’s filled with “treasures” which you discover by looking at every detail. Designed by architect McKee Patterson and interiors by Joan Nemirow Designs.
Imagination
Unique greenhouse-style ceiling and Alhambra lantern.
Island and Backsplash
The island is made of walnut wood with teak on top and the polished copper backsplash reflects the light and complements the copper pans hanging above the range.
Details
The polished nickel exterior door hardware are by Baldwin. They’re adapted for the freezer and fridge.
English Touch
The gorgeous island has Burled walnut and decorative veneers, curved stretchers, and the fluted legs.
Perfectionist
That’s what you get when you’re perfectionist and have a great taste.
Let it Shine!
Beautiful collection of copper kettles.
Custom
The hutch and the wall shelves were all custom-built and designed by the interior designer.
Gracie
“Gracie” is not only a cute one, but also a very lucky puppy!
Range
Le Cornue. Of course!
Goodies
Not just for display! Yum!
Eating Area
This is so beautiful! I love the bookshelves and the De Leon 8-Light Tole Chandelier.
Beauty
Making it even more special.
Canadian Charmer
This kitchen belongs to a house in Canada and I fell in love with the mix of elements used here. There’s nothing boring about this kitchen.
Beams & Walls
The stone walls, beams and travertine floors complement each other.
For the Love of Sinks
This sink goes perfectly with the natural elements used in this kitchen and also with the wood on the island.
Eating Area
Chic.
Subtle Turquoise
Are you on the “Turquoise Lover Team”? You can count me in! This kitchen is fantastic and turquoise has been subtly added to it. This is a great example of having a basically neutral space and add color in little doses, which can be easily changed in case you get tired of it or it doesn’t feel trendy anymore.
Window
The stainless steal appliances and sink makes this kitchen have a modern and sleek vibe.
What’s Cooking?
I love the clean lines of this kitchen.
Pantry
A door hides the pantry and keeps everything organized.
Island
Open shelves for easy access and to display some interesting items.
Eating Area
This eating area is just great! I love the yellow rug, flowers and the relaxed wicked chairs.
Bills & Letters
This is just so needed in a “todays’ kitchen”! Perfect to organize our errands.
Big Apple
A sleek kitchen feels always very clean.
Red
I like the touches of red in this kitchen.
Sweet & Delicious
It’s well organized and comfy.
Young & Fun
The kitchen in this apartment is so fun!
Sweet yet Edgy
The classic cabinets are fantastic and the cement wall delivers some edginess to the space.
Sizzling
Can you stand the heat? This one made me laugh! 🙂
Eating Area
Sunny and colorful. Perfect!
Green Scandinavian
This kitchen is modern and green goes perfectly with its design. I also love the light fixture here.
Smart
The cabinet doors are great and I love the little shelves on the left.
Stairs
The beauty of a Scandinavian kitchen.
We Want It!
Not your average kitchen. Take a look at the material chosen here. It’s sure to impress you.
Naturally
I like the natural elements found in this space.
Open
Open shelves are extremely charming well organized.
Light Fixture
I want this one above my island.
Hungry?
The wood brings some warmth to this kitchen.
From Above
I love this distressed farmhouse table.
We Can!
This is a very well scaled kitchen done to perfection!
Wallpaper
Lovely wallpaper!
Cooking
Timeless hardware.
Shining Star
You really don’t need a huge kitchen or island to make it feel right, beautiful and mostly important, practical.
Closed For Business
Cooked all day and want to hide the mess? I like the idea of using a pocket door like this one.
I really hope you guys liked this post I prepared for you. I hope there was a good variation, so you could find your favorite one around here. Let me know which one inspired you.
How are you guys doing today? Anyone copping with the colder weather yet? Have I told you I’m not a big fan of it? Well, there’s beauty to it. I sure love seeing fresh snow falling, but I dislike having to wake up early and drive my kids to school when it’s -20C out there. It’s not that bad yet but it’s already getting chilly around here. I think I’ll get some wood some time this week so we can put our fireplace to work. There! Not even loving cold, I can find some beauty in it… as long I’m warm! 😉
Wishing you a warm and cozy day.

Omg Luciane, how in the world are you finding the energy o write a post like this!? It’s simply brilliant, but I’m afraid you aren’t resting enough :). I never would have chosen the color scheme of the first kitchen, thinking it was too bedroomy, but they nailed it and it is perfect. I loved the purple,e accents in the middle one, too. Now you go take a day of rest love!
Stacy
Wow Wow Wow! This is truly a compilation of varying kitchen styles. My favorites are the ones that combine modern/traditional/rustic… I loved the neutral kitchen with a pop of blue.. says alot! Great JOB!!!

Luciane,
What a wonderful collection of kitchens you’ve put together here. I always go for a white kitchen. I love the kitchen with the copper back splash…amazing how that warms up a white kitchen. I think my favorite is the one with the “charming” open shelves, the lantern light fixture and the gorgeous farmhouse table. I spent quite a bit of time reading and going back and forth from photo to photo…so i can just imagine how much time you spent putting it all together. Well done for sure!
annie
Wow luciane, you really did your homework today! GREAT POST…I never ever tire of seeing GORGEOUS kitchens and there is something to love about each and every one of these. i spent a lot of time looking over the different elements….and for the amount of time a family spends in a kitchen, much thought and planning SHOULD go into it…afterall I think a kitchen is the soul of a house, don’t you? Hope you are feeling fantastic!
