Los Angeles is a city of diversity, big dreams and a dynamic population. Trying to deceive one style that dominates in this city is a hard task, but I feel this home carries that relaxed yet elegant vibe that you always feel in California.
Soft colors play with gentle textures, assuring a transitional coastal feel that can be found in every room of this family home. As soon as you see them, the interiors features a summery atmosphere that is truly inspiring and refreshing.
Start your week with the beautiful and soothing colors this home offers. They’re peaceful, happy and perfect for this time of the year. I hope you enjoy the post!
California Family Home with Transitional Coastal Interiors
Coastal interiors don’t always have to carry a specific color palette. Feel free to mix neutral colors with small amounts of coastal elements in a room to add personality. This easily allows you to change its motif if you change your mind in the future. Here, gray walls and linen covered furniture brings a soothing feel to the space while a coastal art above the mantel ties the living room with the rest of the house.
Lighting is the Restoration Hardware Two-Tier Round Shade Pendant.
Dining Room
Covered in raffia wallpaper, this dining room has a very casual feel. I love the bi-folding patio doors and the double chandeliers. This space feels very Californian.
Kitchen
A crisp white kitchen with white beadboard ceiling and hardwoord floors is always a favorite from coast-to-coast.
Breakfast Room
With plenty of natural light and a nice view of the backyard, this breakfast nook is a great place to have your daily meals. Turquoise chairs and lighting adds a coastal feel to this space.
Lighting is the Pastiche Orb Chandelier Lighting from Currey & Co.
Table is the Stoneham Round Dining Table from Home Crush.
Family Room
The family room feels very grown-up. I am loving the color palette and the doors leading to the expansive patio.
Ottomans by fireplace are the Cecil Tibetan Lamb & Linen Pouf Ottoman from Scenario Home.
Guest Bedroom
Located on the first floor, this cozy guest bedroom feels larger than it is thanks to the French doors that opens to the backyard.
Guest Bathroom Paint Color
Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter HC-172.
Upper Guest Bedroom
This bedroom features a more traditional feel with a great bed, carpet flooring and a pair of chairs covered in a plaid fabric.

This is a small bathroom with a smart layout. Notice the relaxing paint color and tiling.
Master Bedroom
Great master bedroom with soft gray walls, chevron rug over wide plank hardwood floors and a comfy-looking tufted bed.

Master Bathroom
The master bathroom features custom his and hers vanity painted in an ivory color. The freestanding bath is framed by pebble flooring.

This basement is perfect for entertaining! I am loving the color palette of this room.

The bar is entirely made of reclaimed barnwood. Isn’t this fun?

How are you today? Did you have a good weekend? Could you relax, enjoy your time with someone special? My eldest son’s birthday was wonderful but the kids are still sick. My little one had high fever until yesterday and if you have kids you know how hard it is. I had him sleeping in my bed because I was checking on his many times during the night. He wasn’t 100% today but at least he’s not having temperature anymore. I will keep an eye on him and keep covering him of hugs so he feels extra loved.
Talking about feeling “extra loved”, my hubby gave me some tulips yesterday… that made my day! Tulips are my favorite flowers and seeing them around the house just makes me feel so happy.
You know… I keep saying this and I feel I will never get tired of repeating it… Life is too short and we need to focus on what really matters to us. Look at the people around you and make sure to let them know how much they matter to you.
I know that life is never perfect and we go through a lot of things with the people we are surrounded by. But life is just like that: it changes so we grow with it. Problems appear so we can try to find solutions. All of that help us to become the person who we are suppose to be. No one reaches their full potential without learning from the lessons that are giving to us.
Be open to learn from life and from love. Love is the most precious gift you can give and receive. Be open to that.
with Love,
