If you’re tired of seeing white interiors and are craving homes with warm and comfortable spaces, this project by Katy Evans and Erin Welch for Edward Deegan Architects and Interiors will make you happy today!
Many of the spaces in this home already existed and were selected by the previous owner of the house. Edward Deegan Interiors did all of the decorating job and worked around the existing elements, which is not an easy task to do. Here, the designers share some insight on the scope of this newly-decorated Classic Home with earth-tone interiors:
“The Forest Retreat project was a memorable collaboration with wonderful homeowners who fell in love with the home’s classic architectural details and light-filled spaces. Set on a beautiful property nestled with mature trees and lush landscaping, the goal was to create a serene, quiet, organic interior drawn from the home’s natural surroundings.
To execute the homeowners’ desire for a neutral palette, we incorporated natural fabrics in soft, muted earth tones layered in various textures to add depth and compliment the home’s natural stone and wood finishes. A nod to the homeowners’ equestrian roots can be found throughout, from the Urban Electric Bit sconces in the dining room, to the entry’s stable console, to the buckled leather strap details reminiscent of a horse saddle in the powder room’s mirror and the McGuire dining chairs. French and English antiques blend harmoniously with newer, paired-down modern furnishings resulting in a deeply personal space that is at once elegant and comfortable, and most importantly, home.
