You should never complicate your interiors and that’s even more important when it comes to cottages.
This coastal cottage, once titled as ” Coastal Living Idea Cottage” for Coastal Living magazine, was beautifully designed by interior designer Tracey Rapisardi and it’s a good example of how beach cottages should be done — with a relaxed and comfortable approach. Uncomplicated is always best, even when it comes to interiors!
I am sharing many of the paint colors used in this cottage. These are very soothing colors that are great on walls and even on furniture. Take note!
Coastal Cottage with Paint Color Ideas
You know you’re by the beach as soon you open the doors!
Walls, ceiling, and trim in “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar”.
Stools are Ketchum stools by Somerset Bay.
Floors are white and light gray ceramic tiles.
Dining Room
The causal dining room embraces the ocean view with its subtle colors.
Wall Paint Color: “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White (WV31001) by Valspar”.
Chairs are “Easthampton armchairs”. Dining table, chandelier, hanging dishes, “Pine Point Beach” sign, and tableware are from Sea Rose Designs.
Furniture Paint Color
Hutch Paint Color: “Seaside Retreat Summer Sorbet (SR1011) by Valspar”.
Coastal Kitchen
This kitchen is just perfect for a cottage by the sea. It’s casual but full of personality. Note the custom distressed cabinets and the white (“Snowdon White by Cambria”) quartz countertop.
Paint Color: Walls, ceiling, and trim in “Martha Stewart Waverly Clean White WV31001″. Stripes in Martha Stewart Weathered Copper MS316 by Valspar”.
Stools are “Malibu bar stools in Vanilla Bean by Somerset Bay”.

You can’t help but feel relaxed in this space.

Wicker furniture is always a classic addition to any cottage.
The wicker couch is by Muelle Bay and cushion “fabric is Capri by Robert Allen”.
Master Bedroom
This bedroom is elegant without being overly done. Beautiful combination of off-white and soft blues paint colors, make this room feel calm and inviting.

I am seriously wanting a craft room lately. Aren’t they great? Here, the designer took advantage of nooks created by the eaves of the house, placing work tables underneath the windows and using the abundant storage space to hide extra supplies. Creative!
Practical
The designer turned the bonus room above the garage into a smart and practical craft room.
Turquoise Paint Color
This is a great, subtle turquoise paint color: “Seaside Retreat Summer Sorbet SR1011”.
