I never underestimate people’s creativity, but sometimes I do question people’s taste. Questioning is different than judging, after all I’m a big believer we should live in spaces that make us happy, regardless of what other people will think.
But since this series, Cool or Fool, is the place where we can discuss designs, I thought of sharing this kitchen with you. I was looking at Ironwood Cabinet Design’s website and saw so many extraordinary kitchens, but the “Horse Kitchen” immediately got my attention for its uniqueness. The “Horse Kitchen” has hand carved horses as counter top supports, huge wood hood with horse detail appliques and eggplant color viking appliances.
I have a huge respect for those that hand carved the counter top supports. I can only imagine how long it probably took. But that doesn’t stop me wondering if this was an interesting addition to this kitchen or actually it would look better without it?
What do you think?
Yes? Are you Sure?
Oh, the lovely faux fruits… You know, having real fruits are better for you! 😉
Hold your Horses, Cowboy!
It’s a mix of country and mary-go-round!

I feel this week went by so fast, but I’m glad today is Friday. I want to wish a wonderful Canada Day to my Canadian readers. We’ll be celebrating it around here. I want to take it easy, enjoy the weather, see the fireworks and go to the beach.
Are you being able to enjoy summer so far? I hope you take some time for yourself and enjoy life. Don’t wait for tomorrow, enjoy everything you can right now.
Wishing you a very Blessed weekend!
* “Cool or Fool” happens every Friday. I’ve started this series where I post unique and controversial concepts that I know some of you will love and others will not. The point is to tell us what you really think, regardless of anything. It’s a space where you speak your mind and analyze what you see. Have fun with it and laugh along the way!

I too feel that everyone should live in their home as they wish, however…….. I think it’s a bit much! One horse on either end with smaller corbels would have been just fne. Having just 2 horse supports would have lended an air of creativity and something that was a little different. But with so many people that have oodles of money they don’t really get the concept “less is more”. Still a cool idea but a little much. Happy Canada Day!! We will be watching the fireworks here on Sun. night. Have a good one!
Not digging the horses. Actually, I would prefer that the cabinet design be simpler overall. Too much detail. When you look at the straight-on picture (1st one), it’s very busy to my eye.
Think the kitchen is very lovely, but the horses.. not so much! But as you say, to each his own.
Verdict: COOL! I love the mix of the great black hood and island, then the cream “Carousel/Merry-Go-Round Horses.” Hey, if you’ve got the funds, go for it! Make it the way YOU want, I say! Have a great weekend and Happy Canada Day to you, Luciane. Enjoy your kids and enjoy your fireworks!
Best,
Gloria
Luciane,
Okay, I love all things equine but I believe this is a little over the top, don’t you?
Karen
p.s. LOVE the TV that can be seen from the table. I’m a TV nut, I guess. 😉

The horses remind me of a giant chess game – something very Harry Potter about it.
Have a good weekend & Happy Canada Day!!!
well, I think the horses are on the field … too much detail, although a fairly large kitchen, which would make my delight, but honestly, this kitchen is not for me. So it’s fool!
xoxo
No horses please…unless they are real.
Victoria
Not loving it, but to each his own! Hope you are well!!

Well this time I vote for fool!
