If you have a busy life in the city, you probably have dreamed about moving or at least having a cottage in the country where you could slow down and forget there’s such a thing as time. A place where you don’t need to carry a phone or even the need to have internet access — can we go through 24 hours without it?. If you ever imagine how your perfect country home would look like, this one might make you want to accomplish this dream a little faster.
Designed by the very talented Caitlin Wilson, founder of Caitlin Wilson Design, this cottage is located on a charming lake in Southern Oregon and according to Design Sponge, the cottage is the second home to a pair of hardworking, fun grandparents from San Francisco. The construction began in 2009, and the project was completed in late 2011.
Some of the interiors are influenced by its location with some rustic approach, while others would perfectly fit in a home located at any part of the country, thanks to its timeless and sophisticated appeal.
Truly inspiring and fresh, this country chic cottage is all we need to start our day right!
Country Chic Cottage Design
We all need a peaceful place to listen to our own thoughts… Do you have a favorite spot?
Entryway
Is this country enough for you? I think this room has enough personality for the rest of the house! Take a look at that gun console table! That’s a first for me! 🙂
I am loving the rug and the vintage inspired bench.

I love seeing cottages and one of the reasons I am selling my house is because I want a place that feels cozier and more inviting, just the one we saw above. I am done with big, open concept homes. They are great for entertaining, but I miss having smaller rooms where you feel embraced by them. This home we just saw offers that without feeling closed-in and that’s something I will be looking for in my next house.
I hope you had a great time around here and I will see you again tomorrow! 🙂

Wow this is sooo well done…so charming, elegant and beautiful! I love every single room..you find the best homes! Good luck with the selling of your home Luciane!
Love this, especially the entrance and living room with the Arts & Crafts looking stained woodwork and the Ralph Lauren country house feel. Love those spool chairs and the English arm sofa (I have one very much like this) and leather cocktail ottoman. And then they mix in Barbary Barry in the dining room – interesting. Love the hardware in the kitchen and mudroom. These features – the stained woodwork and the hardware remind me of my house – a Cape Cod built in the 1920’s – so no wonder I like it! I’m definitely a cottage person. This looks like a beautiful place, too.
We did too!! Just sold our “almost 100 year old Tudor” and built a log cabin (ourselves!) on a lake….jury is still “out” if I’m going to be able to handle “rustic.” It HAS been fun decorating it. franki
so beautiful! do happen to know what color exactly is the tile backsplash in the kitchen? thanks!
