E-design is not for everyone, but as an interior designer, I feel that is truly possible to achieve the results you want via online interior design. Here, Shelby Knoles, from Willow & Co. Home, shares her experience with this project:
“This project was one of my favorites and happens to be an E-Design project. The client has great taste and had an amazing start to her space with the architecture and bones of the home. The project was only furniture and we were able to mix her love of Midcentury Modern with the Traditional elements of the home. The paint was existing but some great white colors I tend to use quite often are Benjamin Moore White, Benjamin Moore Simply White, or Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace.”
The formal living room is my favorite as it effortlessly blends traditional, transitional, and mid century modern pieces into one cohesive room. The coffee table is from West Elm. The showstopper in the room is the Visual Comfort Jacqueline beaded chandelier.
Brass Lamps: Visual Comfort.
Rug is West Elm (no longer available) – Similar: here, here, here, here, here, here & here.

I also love the magical Birds in Flight painting layered with the peony art print above the fireplace. Katy Skelton’s Camp bench provides the perfect finishing touch to the conversation seating area and the antique bench in the back of the room finishes off the space. We brought in some pattern and color with the pillows and curtains so the room didn’t feel too sterile.
Pillows: Lulu and Georgia and McGee & Co.
The leather chairs are West Elm. Pillows are West Elm as well.
The family room is a great place to relax with the kids at the end of the day.
In the family room the sofas and some smaller pieces were already there but adding the West Elm Mid-Century Desk created a multi-functional space. The Pottery Barn framed textiles and carved wood side tables helped create a more casual feel as the room would be used more for lounging and the client has young kids.
Side Tables: West Elm.
Family room Pillows: Etsy.
The dining room lighting is the Darlana Pendant from Visual Comfort. The table is an antique from France that the client picked herself! The rug is the Finola Rug, Gray Skies from Lulu & Georgia. Side chairs were Pottery Barn X-Back chair (no longer available – similar here, in black & here, in gray)) and the end chairs are from Noir Furniture (no longer available – similar here). We accessorized the dining room console with planters and vases from West Elm to bring in the mid-century vibe she loves and personal trinkets the clients had received at their wedding.
Dining Tables: Vintage: Here, Here, Here, Here, Here & Here. New: Here, Here, Here.
The dining room console is from Restoration Hardware.
The entryway features the Emmerson Console table from West Elm. The rug is from Anthropologie.
The designer added various artworks from Minted. The client had special ties to France and Amsterdam, and also had used Lily of the Valley in her wedding bouquet so she tied that in with the art.
