I know that so many of us dream about having a small cottage, somewhere close to the beach, somewhere you can feel secluded and very far away from work and the noise. For New York City interior designer, Patricia Fisher and her husband, Jeffrey, this East Hampton cottage is where they like to escape to during the summer months.
The 1920s-era cottage, already owned by Jeffrey prior marrying Patricia, was a rather darker, older and not a very welcoming place to go to. But Patricia, with her interior designer skills, saw every problem with a solution and the couple worked together to transform the place into their dream cottage.
Located in one of the most beautiful areas of East Hampton and only a few blocks from the beach, this cottage has a chic yet very comfortable feeling. It’s welcoming, airy and elegant with timeless details such as beadboard ceilings, wainscoting and white marble.
This is truly a very inspiring East Hampton cottage and I hope you enjoy it!
East Hampton Cottage
Charm is found in every room of this East Hampton cottage. The sconces and the settee are antiques.
Living Room
I love how bright and comfortable this room feels. The homeowner designed the sofa and chairs, and the coffee-table was an old French cherry library table that the homeowners bought some years ago and had it shortened to transform it into a coffee-table.
Floors are French oak, antiqued and distressed. The tufted chair is upholstered in a Nancy Corzine fabric and the wall color is Manchester Tan HC-81 by Benjamin Moore. Trim paint is White Dove OC-17, also by Benjamin Moore.
Kitchen
This 20×16-foot kitchen is spacious and it has so much character with recessed-panel cabinets, honed black granite countertops, a beadboard ceiling, and vintage-style faucets from Harrington Brass.
White cabinets are painted in White Dove OC-17 by Benjamin Moore, wall paint is Morning Dew OC-140 also by Benjamin Moore and blacksplash are 3×6-inch Carrara Marble. Pendant lights (in polished nickel) are from Remains, striped rug is by Dash & Albert and chairs (#437) are by Collection Reproductions.
Tea-Time
These Gustavian seating pieces are covered in a muted seafoam check fabric from Chelsea Textiles.
Paint color is Morning Dew OC-140 by Benjamin Moore, and the sisal area rug is by Stark Carpet Corp.
Love Letters
An antique table that Patricia bought in Provence’s L’Isle sur la Sorgue, France, serves as a desk. Chair is from Collection Reproductions and paint color is Morning Dew OC-140 by Benjamin Moore.
Bedroom
The calming pattern in this bedroom keeps the mood serene and sophisticated, while the blue accents remind you’re by the beach.
Bedding is “Dulcamara,” by Cottimaryanne, the bench and the chest are antiques.
Paint color is Morning Dew OC-140 by Benjamin Moore.
Flowers
The beautiful fabric on the table is “Oakwell”/Blue #J55F-01 by Jane Churchill.
Bathroom
This says “cottage” all over and it’s a perfect design when you don’t have much space. The toilet is hidden behind the half-wall and the medicine cabinets were custom-made.
The faucets are Perrin & Rowe from Rohl and the sconces are “Pimlico” from Circa Lighting. Sink and stand are “Belle Epoque” by Cesame. Rug is from Dash & Albert.
Paint Color: Sterling #1591 by Benjamin Moore.
Homeowners
The beautiful couple, Patricia and Jeffrey in their backyard–the perfect place to relax.
With Love
The interior designer, Patricia. Isn’t she beautiful? I also love the brick patio and the charming teak furniture.
Patio
You really don’t need to spend thousands of dollars in patio furniture. Bring some affordable cottage-style wicker chairs and a rug, and that’s all you need to entertain in style.
Pool
Isn’t this the perfect place to forget about work and just relax on a summer day?

I miss summer every time I see beautiful cottages. I still don’t have any big plans for summer yet, but I’m very happy that I’ll have my best friend coming over to spend some time on a cottage close to our home. She’s someone very important to all of us and I miss her dearly.
Do you have plans for summer yet? All I want is to be able to have many lazy days by the beach with the kids… oh, I really miss that! 🙂

I miss summer too! Seeing these pictures makes me crave a perfect summer day..thats the best! This home is just perfect, elegant but still casual and cozy!
This is the loveliest of cottages, and your words most endearing. A beach, a small cottage, a children’s playground and a few lobsters…..now that’s what memories are made of!
Hi Luciane! You have shown us a wonderful house, very elegant and comfortable. I love the tables and wooden chairs give it a very chic.
This summer do not know yet, but in our mind is going to New York. We have long been wanting to do this trip and for some reason we could not travel there.
I hope this year will be the final to visit the Big Apple.
kisses 🙂
Such a beautiful home.. I have the exact colors in my kitchen including the BenjM Dove. The warm woods compliment the neutrals .. my favorite combination, it’s gorgeous and so warm. Great bedroom linens and I like the wall color.
i do miss summer and am ready to get planning mine. i think it will involve lots of book reading and writing and perhaps paving our patio in stone. this cottage is breathtaking, and i am sending the link to your post to my mama who will be inspired and want to emulate it.
love to you.
