Giving your home a bit of a makeover means that you can transform your living environment without breaking the bank.
Freshening things up needn’t cost a fortune or take too much time and effort, so here are some easy ways to really make a difference.
Painting
When we move into a new home, often a new coat of paint throughout is one of the first decorating touches we all carry out. This can make everything look clean and fresh, as well as adding your own touch to your new space.
However, it’s easy to let glossy finishes become chipped and faded and for walls to become marked and scuffed. Together with the fact that belongings accumulate and need to be moved for a good painting job, it is something most of us just keep putting off.
An easy way to get the boost that a fresh coat of paint can bring without the need to put in a great deal of work involves choosing one feature, such as a wall on one side of a room, and painting it a beautiful new color.
This provides an instant change and can have a dramatic effect for little expense.
Flooring
{Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore Night Mist 1569”}
Flooring is taken for granted and often hardwood floors can get worn out in areas of heavy usage.
Try to re-sand original floorboards to give them a rejuvenated new look. If this is not an option, careful use of a rug (think neutral color with soft patterns) can hide bad patches on any kind of floors and can also brighten up the mood of a room at the same time. This is especially viable if you live in a rental where big changes are not allowed.
Kitchens
Off-White Kitchen Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore Timid White OC-39”
Most people think that changing their kitchen would involve a great deal of work and expense, but in fact it can be one of the easiest and most cost-effective things to do.
Kitchen cabinets themselves are one of the most expense aspects of a fitted kitchen, but once they are in place they can last a lifetime. So, it is relatively cheap and easy to replace doors and by doing it, you will be changing the color and style of your kitchen completely.
Cost-free
Paint color is “Sherwin Williams Pure White”.
The cheapest way to transform your home is to simply move things around; you might be surprised at how much difference it can make. Putting a television on the other side of a room, changing the way lighting casts shadows, moving chairs and tables into different positions – all of these things cost nothing yet can have truly transformative results.
It’s so wonderful to be back here to talk to you guys! I had a busy weekend with many things involved: work, kids and even a short trip. We decided to visit a beautiful beach/provincial park about two hours from where we live and it was truly amazing. I needed this little break!
I feel incredible sore from all the walking, but I also feel completely rejuvenated. I feel lighter, happier and ready for a brand new week! 🙂
I will come back on Tuesday with a normal (and longer) post for you to enjoy, ok? I just came back home very late and very tired today… all I need right now is a long shower and my soft bed!
Have a very Blessed week, full of health, Light and good energy! Let’s open our hearts for great things to happen in our lives!
We’ll talk again tomorrow!
with Love,

Do you know who makes the rug in the living room with color BM nightmist.
Hi Brenda.
The rug is from “Fine Rugs” in Charleston. You can send them an email with the photo and they might be able to give you further information about it.
I hope this helps! 🙂
