You have spent your life taking care of your kids and now that you are empty nesters you finally can put your energy and money into that Florida vacation beach house you have always dream of. Sound familiar? This is a dream of many of us have and this exactly what this couple did.
The homeowners of this Florida vacation home are from Mississippi and have been vacationing in Watersound for years. They have had condos but decided to build a home where their entire family could be together, including their five grandchildren! They wanted something that was different than their primary residence but didn’t want a home that screamed the beach. They went for a simple cottage style home. To keep the transition flowing from room-to-room, the interior designer, Courtney Dickey from T.S. Adams Studio, painted the entire living area in Benjamin Moore OC-17 White Dove – the perfect soothing off-white for a seaside home.
Take a look at this beautiful Florida vacation home. You will love it even if you aren’t an empty nester just yet…
Imagine spending every summer in a cute and welcoming beach cottage like this one. Life would be a tiny little better, right? 😉

I love this place!
Is this a vacation rental?
I love this house! Do you have a picture of the back and interior floor plan? I wondered how the rooms flowed together and how many storage areas.
Hi Suzy,
Please contact the architect for more details on the floor plan. They’re very helpful. Just mention you saw this post on Home Bunch and I’m sure they will assist you on this: http://tsadamsstudio.com/info/welcome.html
Thank you.
Luciane
Thank you for this most imformative post!! Swooning!
Hi, I’m basing my choice for exterior paint(s) for our new house from this gorgeous home. I have a question – when you state: “The shingles are stained in an acrylic paint color – Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams” – does it mean the shingles were painted? Or is it truly stain of some sort? Our contractor will be using paint – not stain, so I’m hoping for the same turnout. Excuse my naivety – I don’t want to be surprised if the outcome will be different! My sincere thanks for any advice or information regarding what exactly was used and how!
Hi Shannon,
I don’t have any further information on the shingles. Please try to reach the designer (under sources). They should clarify this question.
Thank you.
Good luck with your project! 🙂
Luciane
I would like to see the floor plan.
Do you happen to know how I might get the architect plans for the house featured in your post?
We really love this home and so do the grandkids. Could someone contact us about this floor plan, planning to move to Florida in future and need to build.
Love this home! We have been looking for house plans to build on our river lot one row from the beach. Would love to see the floor plan if the full plans are available to purchase!
Can you tell me what material the roof is made of and what color it is?
It says that the shingles were stained repose grey; however, that looks more like the exterior paint color. I saw where you left a previous comment to ask the designer about the shingles, under sources. I do not see that. Where can I find the designers contact. Or, better yet, have you learned more about this property since that you can share regarding the shingles. Thank you!
Hi Calli,
The designer’s name is listed/linked at the intro. Feel free to contact her or the architect. They shared all of the information listed on this post, but try to contact them if you have any further questions. I have not learned more details on the shingles, but I agree with you, they look more painted than stained.
Thank you,
Luciane
@HomeBunch
Obsessed w exterior!!! Any idea what color gutters were painted?
Hi Whittney,

I hope this helps,
