Life in Newport Hills is like living a year-round vacation. Ocean breezes and the ideal Southern California climate make indoor/outdoor living possible and very enjoyable all year long.
Designed by Details a Design Firm, this family home features transitional interiors with a modern, coastal flair. The white kitchen is perfect for entertaining while the family room feels cozy enough to spend hours watching good movies.
The entire home exudes stylish interiors with great and inspiring ideas. I hope you have a great time seeing it!
Family Home with Coastal Transitional Interiors
The contrast of white siding and black trim makes this Southern California home a stand out. Colorful flowers line the walkway leading to a quaint front porch with multi colored pavers.
Front Door
Black pots adorn the sides of the extra wide front door with paned windows. I love this classic look!
Foyer
Bright white walls pop against the wire brushed oak floors on this fabulous entryway. Detailed finish carpentry consists of wainscoting along the walls as well as floor boards and crown molding. A circular, polished nickel chandelier hangs above the entry and framed artwork adds color and beauty to the walls.
Chandelier is the “Roark 40″ Modular Ring Chandelier” from Circa Lighting.
Living Room
Beach accents and artwork create a coastal feel in this bright and open living room. Off white, oversized occasional chairs surround a glass topped wooden table.
The white wood fireplace and mantle, including the nautical artwork, are a focal point in the room. A variety of blue decorative pillows bring color and warmth to the space. White pleated drapes line the French doors that welcome in the ocean breeze.
Similar Living Room Paint Color
“Benjamin Moore HC-80 Bleeker Beige”.
Kitchen
This bright and spacious kitchen is the perfect example of the wow factor and a great place for family and friends to gather.
Kitchen Countertop
White and gray granite countertops sit atop white cabinets and a large, dark wood island.
Appliances
High-end, stainless steel appliances coordinate with the hardware and polished nickel pendant lamps.
Counterstool
Gray upholstered countertstools with nail head accents provide color and functionality.
Dining Area
The dining area is located between the family room and kitchen. Notice the kitchen desk – always a practical additional to any kitchen area.
Chairs
Eight upholstered chairs, including two terracotta colored arm chairs, surround this large dining table.
Lighting
Above the table is a polished nickel circular chandelier, adding light and beauty to the space.
Family Room
Touches of nautical red and sea blue add color to this neutral family room.
Family Room Decor
Tan couches with nail head trim surround two large white coffee tables. Eclectic framed artwork is hung on the walls and adds to the coastal feel of the space. Two tan occasional chairs sit beneath the large window, and pleated drapes add color and design.
Laundry Room
Bright, shiny, white cabinets create a clean look in this spacious laundry room. There is plenty of storage, ensuring this space will remain neat and organized. Shades of gray are found in the marble tile and countertops.

The spacious pedestal bathtub and walk in shower create true luxury in the master bathroom. Muted shades of gray are found in the mirror frames, countertops and tile.
Shower
Classic marble tiles bring beauty and a timeless feel to this shower.
Backyard
The feeling of paradise is found in this lovely Southern California backyard.
Multicolored pavers create a beautiful patio. Bright flowers and shrubs stand out along the white siding, and black trim in the windows and doors creates a cape-cod feel.
Outdoor Kitchen
A custom built-in kitchen area, including a barbeque and bar, make entertaining a cinch.
How are you doing today? I took a couple of days off to travel with my family and we just came back from my son’s first hockey tournament. My son and his team did really well and I am so proud of them. This small trip was wonderful for all of us… the kids, hubby and I had so much fun together and I can’t remember the last time I laughed this much.
I know life isn’t perfect, but we have to embrace the good moments and make them last!
May you have a week full of laughter, fun and light moments! Start embracing a more positive, easy going attitude and focus more on the “good” side of the life! 🙂
Big hugs to all of you, my wonderful friends!
with Love,

Where is Newport Hills? It sounds like this is in the Port Streets in Newport Beach.
It’s a great family neighborhood with lovely curb appeal. People are always rebuilding there, which is good.
Downside is no manned gate guards for better security, smallish backyards and no views.
BEAUTIFUL shower!!! franli
I really love this design. But I can not stop ogling over the bar stools. Where are these from or are they custom?!? How about the curtains? Great kitchen!!
