Designed by interior designer Karen Davis of Marker Girl Home for a mother of two, this Houston home is all about comfortable family living. The interiors are neutral with coastal inspired décor and soft textures. The entire home was designed to please the adults without forgetting about the children. The lucky little ones have a fully equipped playroom with a custom storage unit and plenty of space to play and create!
Take a look at this family home and you see how neutral interiors can easily make you feel more relaxed and at ease!
Family Home Interior Design Ideas
What I like the most about this home is that it feels tailored but it also feels livable. Notice the soft textures and gentle color palette.
Home Decor
The decor in this space feels feminine and coastal. I love the fabric choices for the pillows and couch and how about that turquoise lamp?! Isn’t it gorgeous?
Living Room
The entire living room was decorated with a subtle coastal approach. Seafoam fabrics and accessories play well in this neutral living room.
Kitchen Desk
Classic white cabinets and granite countertop make of this kitchen desk a practical spot for this busy mother of two to run some errands.
Butler’s Pantry
Gorgeous butler’s pantry and tile flooring.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom has a more traditional approach but it still feels light thanks to the neutral walls and bedding.
Bathroom
The entire bathroom feels like a retreat, from the architectural details to its gentle paint color.
Flooring is Porcelain vein cut tiles from Daltile.
Bathroom Cabinet
Traditional cabinets and hardware add a sophisticated feel to this bathroom.
Bath Tub
I love the windows and the framed tub. Isn’t it inviting?
Paint Color
“Sherwin-Williams 7057 Silver Strand”.
Playroom
The kids would not have an excuse to make a mess in any other room of the house with a playroom like that! There’s plenty of space for playing and creative time in this space!
Decor
Cute decorative pieces make this entire room feel more kid-friendly.
Kids Art

For All Ages
The best part of this playroom is that it can easily be transformed into a den or family room as the kids grow. Flexible design always saves you money at the end of the day!

Charming and chic!! frankii
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bathroom! Do you know where I could find those coral pictures above the tub (or something similar)???
I Love the last picture – the playroom with the floor to ceiling shelves / cabinets and a spot for the TV. We’re these custom built units or molding added to purchased bookcases. I completely agree with the value of flexible design. Our playroom may eventually convert back to a dining room or TV room for adults so the funky would grow with the kids and these future possibilities.
What is the name/color of the bathroom vanity countertop? Is it quartz or granite?
