When we hear the word “farmhouse” we often imagine the old, refurbished farmhouses that are often seen in magazines, but farmhouses are influencing many of us, whether we live in the country or not.
This beautiful farmhouse is a brand new construction designed by interior designer Kristin Petro Interiors, Inc. She did an amazing job here as you can tell by the attention to detail found in many areas.
What really makes this farmhouse appealing to me is the millwork encountered in every room, and also the incredibly well-designed kitchen.
I feel completely inspired by this place and I hope you can feel the same by the end of this post. Enjoy!
Farmhouse
Yellow has a very homey feeling. The walls are “Barley” by Benjamin Moore.
Hallway
Beautiful architecture. The lanterns are from Pottery Barn.
Dining Room
I simply love this dining room. It’s country without being tacky.
Chandelier
Sources: Chandelier is from Ballard Designs. Measurements: 11’9″ width by 15’8″ length. The buffet is from Old Biscayne. Walls: Benjamin Moore’s Van Buren Brown; Trim is Benjamin Moore Simply White. Rug: Savannah Rug from Ballard Designs. Color is Green. Curtains are from Pottery Barn.
Kitchen
Classic! The countertops are brushed black granite for the perimeter and polished Carrara marble on the island.
Cooking
The backsplash are “Oxford White” 2 x 6 from The Tile Shop.
Eating Area
Cozy and intimate.
Sources: The table and chairs are from Canadel. The artwork is from Ballard Designs. Wall color: Benjamin Moore’s Silvery Blue. The bench is from Ballard, upholstered in a fabric from Calico Corners. The pillows are custom, fabric from Calico Corners.
Family Room
The family room feels comfortable and ready to entertain! Sources: Rug is from is from Crate and Barrel. Wall Color: Benjamin Moore’s Sierra Hills. Pillows are from Pottery Barn. The ceiling is painted in Benjamin Moore’s Silvery Blue. Room measurements: 17’7″x19’6″. The fireplace wall is the 19’6″. Mantle wood type: Reclaimed oak beam.
Bathroom
I love these Bianco Carrara hexagonal tiles.
Powder Room
This is a delicate powder room without being too feminine. The vanity top is from Porcher and the floor is from The Tile Shop.
Laundry Room
This is a small laundry room done right. There’s plenty of storage and counter space. These are maple Starmark cabinets with the Aegean Mist finish and Chocolate glaze. The counters are granite “Carioca Gold”.

Beautiful house, nicely decorated, lots of great ideas!
I love the way the beautiful chandelier warms up the kitchen. (It looks a bit industrial with all those retangular windows on the cabinets.)
I’m usually not a fan of the farmhouse decor but this is done with such sophistication that I absolutely love it!
