Happy August, my friends! August tends to be an interesting month. There’s a side of us that tries to hold onto summer as long as we possibly can but it’s undeniable how excited we also feel for having things finally getting back to normal. We get busy with back-to-school shopping but we start looking forward to having the house a little quieter and hopefully, a little more organized. The long lazy days are about to get busy again but that means that we might have some extra time to get life in order.

For me, getting our three kids back to school means that I will have more time to focus on work and on my house. As I previously mentioned, we moved across the country last month and I can’t tell you how busy we have been! Buying furniture for our home has been a huge challenge but I am grateful for some of my favorite retailers, such as Wayfair (my go-to store!), Pottery Barn (I am loving their new arrivals!) & Serena & Lily (Also with some great new items!), getting their items back in stock much sooner than others. That really comes in handy, especially after such a hard year we faced with the supply chain.

My favorite picks for this month are inspired by a very soothing and earthy color scheme that is perfect for the next season. Light wood is accentuated with browns and nature-inspired hues that are easy on the eyes and soothe the mind. Nothing is too heavy nor cold. Yes, we are finally making our homes warm again by adding textures and more character. Join me and let’s create a house that feels like a home.
