Is it just me or is time going by way too fast? Can we slow down a little and enjoy a beautiful home tour together? This home is so nice!
In my opinion, neutral interiors shouldn’t feel cold. A neutral home is a place where the interiors are serene, with the right amount of balance, and never ever overly done. This process is especially tricky to create in a new-construction home, which is what the home we’re about to tour is. Here, the designer, Katelyn of James May, shows us how to design a newly-built home with neutral interiors:
“This was a large, 2-story, custom home we worked on closely with our clients to design their dream home on a small acreage. We were pretty short on time to shoot this house before closing so we wanted to share just a few of our favorite spots—though there were many! This sprawling 2-story was traditionally designed with a nod to cozy, cottage design—fit for a family. Throughout the home you’ll find stone, barn wood and earth-tones. The grand entry was a major design moment—decked out with wainscoting and sight lines into the formal dining room, office, staircase and the formal living room lined with French doors to the backyard. You also see the double sided fireplace that leads to the sunroom or informal living room behind.” – Katelyn of James May

This home calms me down… It’s very soothing and I really love the color palette. I hope you enjoyed it, too.
I am off now to clean my house. We’re having some construction close by and the amount of dust around us is terrible, especially when some of us have allergies, which we do! Wish me luck!!! 🙂
We’ll talk soon, my friends. Thank you so much for your sweet company! – Luciane
