Lately, I have being feeling very inspired by several transitional interiors I see on blogs or in books and magazines. Like many interior designers, I seek inspiration everywhere possible and that happens especially when I am working on a project.
This home has truly inspiring transitional interiors because it feels current and very subtle. The pieces chosen for this home certainly grab your attention, but there’s nothing here that feels busy or inappropriate for the architecture of this home. Every decor complements this space and even the more audacious choices, such as the “Honeycomb Lantern” in the foyer, add some whimsy and balance.
Find inspiration for your transitional interior craving and many ideas that you can apply to your own home! Oh, and don’t forget to take notes (or pin) the paint colors I am sharing here with you!
Have a good time!
Inspiring Home with Transitional Interiors
This foyer takes anyone’s notice. You simply can’t miss the interesting mix of design styles in this space.
I am loving the “Marjorie Skouras Honeycomb Lantern” against this traditional paneled foyer. It feels refreshing and diminishes the formality of the space .
The bench is one of a kind from a company in Los Angeles, called “Dos Gallos”.
Carpet Runner is the “Ember Ring”, in color “Arctic Waters” by “Rosecore”.
The wood paneling on the walls weren’t stained. They were fumed with ammonia! Now, that’s a new for me!
Hallway
Elegance is carried from the foyer to this beautiful hallway.
Wall finishing is plaster.
Benches are from “Wisteria”.
Pendant lighting are “Hundi Lantern, Bronze Finish” from Pottery Barn.
The 6″ wide white oak plank floors are stained with 75% Jacobean and 25% Ebony from Minwax.
Dining Room
“Benjamin Moore HC-147 Woodlawn Blue”.
The paint color sets the mood in this dining room. The entire room feels tailored yet very welcoming.
The gorgeous shell chandelier is the “Jenny Natural Shell Chandelier by Oly Studio”.
The round table (always a favorite of mine!) is custom made out of walnut and is 72″Dia x 30″H.
Transitional White Kitchen
This transitional kitchen feels modern and timeless, thanks to its mix of rich elements such as wood and steel.
The aqua bowl on the countertop is from “Heeney & Company” in Atlanta.
Island Pendant Lighting are the “Benson Pendant” from “Restoration Hardware”.
Perimeter Countertop is “Absolute Black Granite” with Flamed finish.
Island Countertop is “Kashmir White Granite”.
Hardware are from “Amerock Industrial Chic Rochdale Collection” in satin nickel.
Chairs are from “Restoration Hardware” and table is by “Industrial Chic Furniture”.
Kitchen Cabinetry
This secretary desk inspired cabinet is perfect for a kitchen of this size. You have your work station, but can save some space when you close the door.
Notice the beautiful contrast of the dark hardwood floors against the crisp white cabinets.
Counter Stool is the “Vintage Toledo Bar Chair” from “Restoration Hardware”.
Kitchen Cabinet Paint Color
“Sherwin Williams Alabaster SW7008”.
Mudroom
Just off the kitchen, through an architectural arch, you will find a practical and handsome mudroom. I am loving the soothing color palette found here.
Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore OC-46 Halo”.
The trim is “Sherwin Williams Alabaster sw7008”.
Light Fixture is the “Large Reflection Pendant by Barbara Barry”.
Family Room
The family room is full of personality and it feels very grown-up. The show-stopper in this space has to be the masonry fireplace.
I love the clever combination of different fabrics. They form a wonderful pattern together.
Bathroom
The master bathroom is charming and relaxing.
Cabinets were custom designed by the interior designer and built by a cabinet maker in Tennessee.
Faucets are from “Waterworks”.
Sconces are “Simple Scallop Wall Sconce” by Barbara Barry.
Shower Tiling
The white tile is “Calcutta Gold” marble and the gray tiles are “Lagos Azul, Nova Blue”. I am loving these stones together.
Perfect Paint Color for Bathrooms
Paint Color is “Benjamin Moore HC-147 Woodlawn Blue”. Isn’t it perfect for a bathroom?

I love all of your posts; some more than others. When I see a home with such rich, sophistication like this one I think, gee, it’s not really my taste. However, if someone were to give me this home, I wouldn’t decline.
I am drawn to this home as the architecture looks rich with Spanish colonial influence… a favorite of mine. I love how it was decorated in a current fashion yet bringing in certain elements reflective of the Spanish colonial aesthetic. Thanks for sharing these beautiful images, Lucianne!
I was worried this home might be a bit too “gothic” for my tastes but was pleasantly surprised 🙂 I love the foyer with the quirky zebra-patterned cushion and the light “fumed” panelling 😉 The light plaster work on ceilings and walls and modern kitchen really brightened the place up.
I loved the dining room drapes!! franki
