Hello, my wonderful friends! How great it is to have you on the blog and I am very excited to share this beautiful home built by M House Development. If you’ve read the blog for a while, you know that I love their work and you probably will recall seeing their previous works featured here & here.
Now, let’s talk about this great newly-built home! I often get asked on Instagram what I think about black windows, which is the latest in exterior trends lately, and although I think they’re stunning and I love them, they’re certainly are part of this era and like everything that is trendy, they might eventually look outdated. This is a great example of modern farmhouse exterior with board and batten siding, metal roof and white windows and, as you can see here, it works! In fact, this modern farmhouse is also a great example if you’re looking for ideas for small lots. The internet is filled with large and wide farmhouses, but this one is located on a city lot and it offers everything you could want in a modern farmhouse, including a front porch!
One more thing. If you’re looking for lighting inspiration, this home has some serious, and I must say, affordable, ideas!!! So, take notes on all sources shared by this talented builder and pin like you mean it! 😉 Let’s have a good time!!!
The siding paint color is Farrow and Ball All White.
The roof is a combination of charcoal metal roof and grey shingles.
The craftsmanship of this home is evident from every angle. The board and batten siding was custom-designed by the builder. Also, notice the details above the round window and on the classic porch columns.

I love all of the homes you post. I simply can’t get enough of the light walls and white woodwork. I always dreamed our forever home would be just like that. Unfortunately, at this time, I can’t have my white woodwork. We are having the interior painted before we move in but the cost of doing all of the woodwork is NOT in the budget. I’m very disappointed but I’m going to plan B. Do you have any examples of wood floor and trim with light walls? I’m trying to get inspired after having my mind focused on beautiful gray walls and white trim. A kitchen that’s light and bright with white cabinets. I’m not sure what the wood is – they aren’t too dark but I’m trying to work with what I’ve got. Any examples would be great.
Hi Marisa,
Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it. 🙂
I feel your pain! We had to live with light wooden cabinets for many years and my way to update the feel of our interiors was painting it in one of my favorite light greys, “Sherwin Williams Useful Gray SW 7050”. This color is not white, but works really well with any type of wood. I used their best type of paint and it was very durable. You can also paint your trim white… that’s an option.
I hope this helps.
