Hello, my dear friends! How are you today? I hope this finds you healthy and safe.
Today, I have the pleasure to share the beautiful work – and home – of Brooke Adler from Brooke Adler Interiors. She’s new around here and I am truly impressed by her timeless approach to design.
Below, this talented interior designer shares some details about her own home renovation in North Carolina. Prepare yourself a cup of tea (or your favorite beverage) find a comfy spot and have a good time. This home is charming, inspiring and dreamy!
“This was a renovation to a house built in 1999 – this house had a lot of potential but fell very short on finishes in the kitchen and overall square footage. In 2018, we added 750 square feet to this house, which included an expanded kitchen and breakfast area. The architecture was traditional but we wanted to add modern elements, while also keeping it classic. I loved the handmade texture of the tile that did not stand out too much and let other elements shine, without looking too simple. The globe pendants allowed for maximum light and visual flow of the space. The counter stools number one goal was easy to clean – for a house with two boys. But I also love the shape and texture they brought to the space. The large 94” x 48” island is the ideal space for prepping food and serving a family in a casual space. The walls are a custom Benjamin Moore White called “Farmhouse White” that was developed by the designer. The hardware is Emtek’s satin brass, which is the perfect brass tone to incorporate and mix in any space with multiple metals.” – Brooke Adler of Brooke Adler Interiors.
Pro tip: “Mixing metals between brands can be tricky and online pictures can be misleading. Go see finishes in person whenever you can and be wary of how different brand’s finishes will look together.”

“I wanted this room to be clean with a feminine touch and colors that felt serene. We had to fit into a very tight nook, so the table size was very specific. The window treatments are nonfunctional with functional shades behind for privacy and light control. The cushion has performance fabric to easily clean up family spills. The windows in this corner were meant to bring the most amount of possible light into the space.” – Brooke Adler of Brooke Adler Interiors.
Wall Color – “Benjamin Moore Farmhouse White” (custom color created by Brooke Adler Interiors – According to the designer, this custom color can be made at Benjamin Moore if anyone requests it. She doesn’t have the formula but it’s a variation of “Benjamin Moore Intense White”.).

“I wanted a clean and cool color palette that was timeless in this bathroom as it is used by overnight guests and also sometimes as a 2nd powder room (full bathroom with 3 access points). We had to off-center the mirror due to the sink/drawer arrangement, so we did our best with decor to make things still feel balanced. “Restoration Hardware’s The Right White” was a great soft white choice that looked right with the quartz countertops that have a soft white ground. The hex pulls from Emtek are classic but add a different element with the angles instead of just a smooth pull.” – Brooke Adler of Brooke Adler Interiors.

“This room had to be a back entry/mudroom/drop zone but also a laundry room, so it had to be aesthetically pleasing but also functional. Not in the picture, there is a built-in ironing board. Vented shoe drawers for the kids. A tall cabinet with dividers for mail slots, pull outs, etc. Hooks for kids bookbags and jackets. Plenty of storage above. Sink for the laundry area. The coloring was a light grey with blue undertones that is darkly contrasted with the herringbone floors.” – Brooke Adler of Brooke Adler Interiors.

“I wanted this small porch space to feel cozy for watching TV or playing family games, but also to seat a lot of people for entertaining and casual eating/drinking. The furniture and fabrics are all very easy to clean and durable and will hold up for many years. The cushion fabric has the right amount of warmth and texture to hide some of the wear and natural dirt that comes with exterior living. The pillows and planters give that pop of color that is needed against all the gray. The ceilings on this porch are 15′ high and have a tongue and groove ceiling stained with “Minwax Classic Gray”. Floor is a bluestone. We had to choose between a dining space and a lounge space, but ultimately I think we made the right choice!” ” – Brooke Adler of Brooke Adler Interiors.
