According to the interior designers from Ivy House Interiors, the clients for this project had a great aesthetic. They had recently built their home and needed help furnishing their space. Overall, they told them that they were not afraid of color, which matched their lovely personality.
The front door is made out of metal, in a black paint. The paint color is close to Sherwin Williams SW 6258 Tricorn Black.
There isn’t a lot of space in this foyer, so the designer wanted to keep everything minimal. They found the entry furniture piece locally and added some antique pieces that the clients had along with some finds from Home Goods.
As you enter the home, you are greeted with beautiful herringbone wood floors.
With an open floor plan, the living room is the focal point of entire space.
The chandelier was picked out by the clients but similar chandeliers can be found at Shades of Light.
Cabinets are in Snowbound by Sherwin Williams. I’m loving this crisp white paint color!
One of the designer’s favorite places to buy cheap art is from Sarah Swanson Design (seen on the bottom right shelf). This is a great place to source art to fill a bookshelf.
Here’s what the interior designer had to say about adding color to this home: “Overall, we have a had a lot of compliments on this space with the use of color. I think most people feel like if they add color to their home, it will make the space feel smaller or busy, however, if you balance it with neutral tones, the overall space can look sophisticated”.
The designer hand painted the books in white to create a neutral effect on the bookshelf, but also to let the decorative accessories pop against the white books.
The rug really balances the space out with darker colors. Rug is from NuLoom. The brass accent table is a find from a local antique store.
The “Belvery Coffee Table” is from Erdos at Home – $595
The walls are in Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams, which is very similar to Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.
The gray chairs and couch are from Erdos At Home. The pillows are Watercolor Abstract from Little Design Co. $98 each.
The dining area is just off the kitchen and the homeowners wanted to keep their current dining table, so the designers found chairs that really accents the space. They added a low profile chair, to keep the space open and minimal. The sideboard was a Craigslist find, that was painted professionally.
The chairs are from Wayfair, they are in a light gray leather, which is great for families with small children. The chandelier hanging over the table is Darlana Linear Chandelier from Visual Comfort.
The art above the sideboard was a commissioned piece by a local artist, Sara Kay. The interior designer says that she loves the art piece because it creates a focal point and it also incorporates the color in the overall design of the space.
According to the designer, the grey island paint color is similar to Mindful Gray SW 7016 by Sherwin-Williams.
The hood range is accented beautifully in white and gold. Countertop and slab backsplash is Carrara Marble.
Faucet is similar to Garter Single Hole Pull Down Kitchen Faucet with Spring Spout from Signature Hardware – $159.
The kitchen was thoughtfully done by the clients. The bar stools were previously purchased by the clients as well. The kitchen cabinet paint color is Sherwin Williams SW 7004 Snowbound.
The bar cabinet features a grey quartz countertop. The hardware adds a modern touch, with the polished nickel pulls and knobs on the cabinetry.
I think that a dose of unexpected finds create an exciting feel in this otherwise neutral home.
